Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

Not down there. On your head.

I was reading about how some guys trim their own hair because the barbers always mess it up or don't know their hair as well as they do. Plus they can save $15 a month on haircuts (or, if you like, up to $95).

I found a link but it doesn't seem to give much info on how to trim your sides and back properly.

So has anyone done this before? With decent results? :)

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

NO. It is impossible to cut your own hair. Barbers can't even cut their own hair. One has to be Houdini to cut his own hair.

Military style.

Take a beard trimmer and set it to the longest setting and go over your head until it is all even. And becuase there is a hair guard it will not be shorter than the setting used.

And presto!!

Worked for me.

I've been cutting my own hair for years now. It saves me a lot of money, and besides it's nice because I can do it any time I want/need to.

The first few times you will mess up and look like a fool, but that's okay, because knowing how to do it later is great. It's not just the money...it only takes me 30min to do it, so it saves time running to and from the barber shop, and time is money...and so is money for gasoline.

I have a basic haircut kit, and just use the different 'blades' or whatever you call them. The things you put on the trimmer have different sizes. For example...1" , 1/2" , 3/4" , 3/8" , 1/4"

What I do is, when it's that time of month that I need a haircut, I first take the 1" ...or the biggest one. This will not cut much, but leaves the most hair on my head. I take this and just "comb" it through my hair in the direction of my hair, as if using a comb.

Then, I'll take the "3/4" inch one and go against the direction of my hair, going down to up, on the back of my neck and the sides. Leaves less hair on the sides, and more on top. Then I repeat this with the "1/2" inch, but don't go as far up.

Then you just use the plain trimmer without any extension piece to even the back and sides.

By the way, the way I do all of this is by holding a mirror in my left hand and the trimmer in my right, and I stand with my back to the bathroom mirror, so that when I look in the mirror held in my left hand, I can easily see what I am doing on the back of my head.

Btw, picard, good Barbers should be able to cut their own hair. I'm skilled enough now that I give haircuts to other people occasionally. I must be Houdini, lol, because when I give myself a haircut I usually even get comments on how good it looks.

I'm starting to notice a receding hairline...which has tempted me to shave my head military style a few times...which would be a lot easier. I won't do it though until my hair is visibly balding. I think by then I'll be pretty bulked up so my hair will be the last thing girls would be staring at.

Thanks guys.

There is an electric trimmer sitting around the house just waiting to be used :).

I just hope the longest setting is long enough so if I slip up it won't be too evident!

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Yeah me too! I have been cutting my own hair for the past few years and i have saved hundreds of pounds! it is DEFINATELY NOT IMPOSSIBLE!!

i think i can cut my hair far better than a hairdresser ever could and would never trust my hair in a hairdressers hands! The hairdreeser will never give you the style that you want and prefer! only you can do that! It is not hard at all!!!! Just have a mirror that you can use to check the back of your hair when you are cutting it and of course one for front reference!

I cut my own hair and it looks DAMN good. I don't give myself a buzz cut, but I do trim a little off, here and there and voila. It's PERFECT.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

i cut my own hair all the time. one of those trimmer sets you guys were talking about...if ur gonna go shopping make sure u can get the widest one cause some beard trimmers are small. i think mine is technically for cutting hair though.

i've never really bothered much with the back...although i should. the mirror trick sounds best, i used that when i had long hair and had to gel it and **** sometimes.

I don't think I'd trust myself to cut my own hair. Luckily, here in the Philippines haircuts are around $1.25... I get my hair cut regularly (about once every 2-3 weeks) so things stay nice and neat.

I tried cutting my own hair three weeks ago. It turned out alright, but now that it's grown back, I think I might stick with a professional. I was going to go with the short military look, but I want my hair back...even if it is greying more.
Hmm...save $15 a month? I wait about three months minimum before I get a hair cut, but thats me. Keep it combed and it looks decent.
