"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

So I can only echo some of the other recent comments about online dating taking a dive in the last year (I'm in Oz for reference). It's bigger than it ever has been which seems to have enabled women to become more passive than ever with their level of actual participation on the sites (hat tip to Colossus). You know what I mean; sh!tty to no profile, sh!tty to no photographs, little, if any activity initiated from their end. It used to be that you could change your photos or profile, and very quickly figure out, based on the changes in activity, if it was a good move or not. But even that kind of feedback is hard to come by at the moment, the girls are that damn passive right now.

So, it was just a little gratifying when I came across this today, bear in mind this is her entire profile, not a message:

"AFTER EFFECT. I want to meet you!! I have just seen your picture on here and I once saw it on RSVP but you declined me. I love your picture, but mostly I love your cynical nature and total disregard for societal pleasantries and fluffiness. I think we could both hate a few similar things, who knows mutual hate could be passionate!!

I'd pay to talk to you but I'm too tight, but don't hate on me for that your too cynical for that! You should be intrigued that I would buck the system and challenge you to contact me! "

First things first: no pics, no body type or height, kids (of course), 41, and naturally I am just loving her double standards regarding pay to message. But at least it's good to know my schtick isn't going entirely to waste (although if this is what it's attracting, hmmmmm).

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

A woman with that much wit is never attractive.

I'm not really out "in the field" right now, so this prompts a question. Maybe you guys who are more active can respond. With the prevalence of online dating now, and this is allowing women to become more passive online, does this translate to real life? Are women becoming more passive in real life? In other words, is it harder to get girls to "chase" you now in real life? Or are they all just laying back more now waiting for the right guy to hit on them?

I don't think that has changed what I have noticed though is living in a smaller town. I run into tons and I mean tons of chicks I recogize from online dating. Just yesterday I went to chiptole and the cashier is on a online dating site who I recognized. What I noticed most women do here is "Spin Plates" they use online dates to meet guys during the week and on weekends they go out with their girlfriends looking to meet men IRL.

One thing I have noticed though is most online girls are usually 2nd or 3rd tier. Meaning that if you see them with their friends they usually don't get hit on a lot because they are uglier. I remember a couple years ago a wingman and I went out and we literally ran into 4 chicks on POF who flaked on him. Once they saw he looked just like his pics they wanted his attention but he was like "nope ur loss bytch"

Once again I'm not making this up, I go out in the field a lot so I recognize a lot of online chicks. It's ridiclous but the field is small where I"m at I guess even with nearly a million people in the surrounding areas

Heh, aint that the unfortunate truth. Seems like the best you can hope for is physically attractive AND tolerable company. Still, I'm done having tepid sex with boring women, it's just not an experience I need to have again.

"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

Doesn't directly address your question, but I have noticed one interesting "crossover". I work in an overwhelmingly male environment (80/20 I'd think) and with a smorgasbord like that the girls in the "industry" have never really looked further afield for male company. But in the last year a bunch of them have been turning up online. Personally, I think it just represents the fact that more and more people are waking up to how risky workplace relationships are these days.
