I was at the movies and saw the trailer for Tom Cruise's upcoming Mission Impossible move, and I think he might be finally showing his age. It's not that he looks terrible, he just doesn't look so young and shiny anymore, he's starting to look a little waxen.

I only bring this up because Cruise has long been held up as an example of how men age better than women. My observation is that people tend to age very quickly once they start to fall off. In other words, they tend to look basically the same for a long while, then when they start to look older, it's a quick change. I've always said guys tend to look about the same in their 30s and 40s, if they take care of themselves. Cruise is 55.

So it’s over for men after 50, heh?
Not saying that at all. Even if Cruise is starting to look older, do you really think he can't get laid? But at some point there is going to be some fall off. I'm sure there is a wide variation from individual to individual as to when that occurs, due to genetic factors, lifestyle, how well you take care of yourself, etc. But I've noticed for a lot of men that point seems to come not at 50, but rather somewhere in the mid 50s.

As an example of variation, I recall Atom Smasher saying that he looked about 35 when he was actually 57. Says he has a baby face. I think I look fairly young for my age, but wow I've developed some aches and pains, mainly in my joints. One shoulder, one knee, and now both elbows give me trouble intermittently. But I'm happy to deal with that rather than something like cancer, lupus, diabetes, or coronary artery disease.

It may be that we're genetically programmed to hold till a certain point then once the dam has some crack, it all comes in a row.

That point can be triggered from programming or stress or other factors.

Age
35
You might want to look at the actor Jim Pardons aka "Sheldon Cooper" in The Big Bang Theory.

Wow did he âge!

Loved the show and the actors. I watch clip on youtube now (missed a few season, but it's a sitcom)

Boy does the age variable shows in 12 years of doing the same character. The show on it's 12 year run

He's 44 now (started Sheldon Cooper at 32). He's also the oldest of the cast

Depends on your skin care. I get 10+ years younger regularly, and women in their 20s can't believe I'm in my 40s. I understand 55+ is a different ballgame, but lots of innovation in stem cell research for aesthetics, so we'll see.

Here's Rob Lowe in his early 50s:

Still primed to get loads of young, hot women with his looks alone.

Even better, you can go in for cryogenics. Get frozen in your present prime.... then wait for the technology to catch up before they thaw you out again. Hey presto, an eternity of pick up at your disposal.... what is wrong with this picture?

Are both prescription or just the Retin-A? Is getting a prescription as easy as just going to a demertologist and asking or do you need some kind of illness?

How much does it run?
Any dermatologist will prescribe Retin-A. $60 for a year's supply.

Another social construct to shame men into dating grandmas, as I'm sure you're accustomed to.

The irony here is it is very unmanly that in person you wouldn't dare recite this. Thus I could call you a bltch because of your willingness to say this via the protection of the internet, but not face to face.

Ok thanks. So Dermapen doesn't need a prescription? Any side effects to either of these?

He looks better than Brad Pitt (no homo). I'm going down kinda right now, the wrinkles at the eyes hooded, the neck getting wrinkled as of this year. I've just started Chiropractor and it has helped immensely for my neck pain after years of ignoring it. I'm blue collar. My body is very bulky now though than ever. I'm filled out and women like that. It's all natural. I don't ever lift weights, but through work, staying busy. I drink Mushroom tea or "Chaga" and it's supposed to make your complexion younger. Still, I can stop the eyes, mouth, neck going down due to gravity, plus more tiredness. I don't drink much at all and never really have. Not dope, nothing. I HAVE gamed (computer) and that, I think, will age your eyes etc, but it's competitive and like sports I couldn't live without it sometimes throughout the week, now down to a couple of hours one day a week cause it affects my work if I do it on a work day. It's my only real vice, because fvcking girls, which can Also age you. Look at porn stars or any figure that's fvcked a lot of women, he's aged, she's aged as well from all the perverted fvcking, like the devil in looks. I still have a boyish charm look, but from certain angles I even creep myself out. In face-to-face women react very favorably to me in person, but from the side, they'll see my more sagging chin (not flappy though yet) - from the front my double chin is starting to kinda be visible. My body kinda makes up for all this kinda, I guess I'd be considered a "hunk." My hands though are very rough from hard work. I guess I look like a pro-wrestler from the 80s, just didn't really lift weights or take steroids, but walked around as if they were always around walking on the beach surfer look or something.

My hair is pretty much half grey. Women know when you dye your hair, and it's a turn off to them. Though no doubt a lot of girls don't like grey hair [I like women anyway], I've had a few say they love my hair [still thick, kept trim, short back and sides. Perhaps it says something of your character... when so many middle-aged men are running around desperately trying to appear younger.

I remember my sister coming back from a date. I asked her how it went. She said he was nice enough... but that he dyed his hair.....

Dermapen is public and can be bought in amazon. Skin irritation seems to be the most prevalent side effect for both.

Werent you the same guy who ran and made excuses when @bigneil said he'd kick your ass at JFK Airport?

Guess you were too busy at your hairstylist appointment to show.
The only duck-out I seem to recall was that lonely Saturday night six months ago at 8pm, when Guru1000 stood up Naughty Ninja (NN) at an oyster bar in midtown NYC, where Guru1000 "promised" to appear with a double header of 9s to share with NN, and NN put on his best suit and cologne awaiting an internet date with Guru1000 who never showed. Priceless!

It seems that was the night that Guru1000 permanently imbued NN's psyche with the guru1000 stamp and nutsack, relegating NN to be his number one fanboy.

Mine is long, but only because the Salon (with a lot of hot slvts) I go to is not open on Mondays. I'll get it cut very short while on vacation. The most girls I interact with of late are 20 and 24 years old. Both see me as not a threat really sexually or boyfriendly, But they both flirt or vie for me because they know I have money and they both see me as genuine as trustworthy as kinda a father-figure that can tell them what's what (in the world). I tell them things they most Certainly have never heard of before, from the past And the present and they nod and Listen. They both Must see me as something or someone they have Never seen. I believe that in the beginning of my relationships with them that they had me "pegged" or boxed in, but over time, months now, they see a Never-ending Book or story or trail of stories that never end coming from my mouth and it goes on and on into eternity and never stops keeps flowing and the things they have never heard of, the newness they always hear make them eager to see me again and again and again and anticipate my arrival like santa clause or something. I see them now looking awed or mystified when I show up, because I am so unpredictable (yet many times very predictable), and it IS a push/pull it's an OFF/ON and jacking around of their psyche that I yank much like a fishing for trout or crappie, bass etc etc. They see evil, yet goodness and are drawn to it. They know what is coming from my mind is really what I believe having been around me for so long now. At first they were accustomed to the world to the current World (of television, even social media) which taught them various things and ways of life pop culture. Now, I see them providing excellent customer service and I hope that I have made them more wide-ranging in their thinking of others and of course, the customer. They seem more creative now, these young girls. They are there to grow another man's business. They talk sooo much behind other people's back though. It's unreal. I guess some girls gossip more than others. I do not think that many could get anymore gossipy. I suppose salon stylists could, you know Posh ones, that have women in their talking about their husbands boyfriends non-stop, just blah blah bleh blah blah bleh blah blah no matter the age of the woman. They're weak. The whole of them. But as a MAN, you must give them Your honest-to-God take on all matters. They'll either value your take as a MAN, or they'll drop what you have to say. You, as a man, of course, don't really care if they take it or leave it. But your take must be interesting nonetheless to them, even if not true or way off base. This is where you can paint an exorbitant story or trail in their minds, that goes on and on as they remain listening, and captured under your spell (and voice leading them no matter the subject matter or how dull).

I've said repeatedly here that guys look pretty much the same in their 40s as they do in their 30s. Going by that premise, I'm not sure why anyone would have trouble believing that a guy who looks in his 30s was actually in his 40s. But what do young girls know?

Maybe Rob Lowe can be the new Tom Cruise :) But again, I don't think there's much of a change in the early 50s - it's more common in the mid to late 50s. However, if a girl knows that you are in your 50s, I think that just the number alone gives off a certain perception that you are "old" or at least well on the way. This is good news for guys who look younger and don't mind lying to girls about their age lol. Not my thing, I can't be arsed with it.

My gray hair is the main thing that's aging me, looks-wise. I agree that dying your hair can be a turn off to women (it's a feminine rather than masculine thing to do). Women are somewhat less dialed in to youth clues than men, when it comes to attraction. So I've also heard a lot of women say they like my gray hair. Funny thing, what makes me actually believe that is that I've also heard gay men say that gray hair is a turn on. Seems like they would be less inclined to lie about it. At least I have my hair, we all have to play with the hand that we're dealt.

If I could push a button and have my old dark youthful hair back, I would. But I'm not willing to dye it. Usually it looks fake on men. A lot of women's dyed hair looks fake too, but women are more expected to look fake so it's no biggie. How many women do you see whose hair color is completely natural (no highlights, no touchups, no frosting, nothing)? I'm sure it's well less than 50%.

You might want to look at the actor Jim Pardons aka "Sheldon Cooper" in The Big Bang Theory.
I don't think Parsons looks old for his age. From what I understand, the main change in his looks came when he started working out (around mid series). He went from looking like a preying mantis to a more bulked up look. I would say his costar Johnny Galecki has aged much more noticeably than him.

Rotating constant 9s in their mid-20s in your 40s is no easy feat. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You need every operating advantage as do all men.

The men who don't tend to their physicality in their 40s and 50s are generally banging unattractive or older women, the mothers of the women I engage, not my cup of tea.
