Fair points about football and all the "ins and outs," which I know next to nothing about but trust you do!

In real life, a 6'0"+ fit guy with NFL money might be able to get away with this behavior and keep attraction, but the typical 5'9"-5'10" male with a more modest physique and income isn't going to have the same outcome.
I think in some instances this^^ would be true however putting aside Jeff Bridges/Terry Brogan's good looks, awesome physique and ex pro-football status which Jess didn't care about anyway (I did not mention money because admittedly he was BROKE!), he was extremely strong with Jess, he took zero nonsense from her from the beginning! And I think she had a ton of respect for him because of it!

So him showing a bit of vulnerability in that moment laying in bed after sex had a powerful affect on her versus another man who wasn't strong doing the same thing.

Re it not being "red pill," I personally believe red pill can be detrimental to healthy male/female interactions and relationships but will leave it there as I respect this is a man's seduction forum where red pill is often encouraged and it's not my place to argue against that!

Except to say people, dating and relationships are nuanced never black and white. In Terry's case his opening up to Jess 'worked' in that moment.

In the end, they couldn't be together for a myriad of reasons but they did genuinely love each other, it just all went sideways after she killed Sully (Terry's personal coach and friend) in the hot house in Chichen Itza.

Oh and yes I loved the movie! I saw it for the first time a few years ago and It's been one of my favorite flicks since then! I actually own it and can watch whenever I like.

I even enjoyed watching the football scenes even though I know very little about and cannot relate.

It's right behind 'Goodfellas' and 'To Kill a Mockingbird" as one of my fave's but that's another conversation!

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

In terms of "game", it's good for a man to be strong with a woman and establish boundaries. Those personality factors work better if a man has elite tier looks vs. more average tier looks. When an average tier looking guy is emotionally strong and establishes boundaries, it's not likely to work as well, but it might work. Looks determine more than personality.

I recommend average tier men take zero nonsense from women. It's a good practice. Boundaries are healthy.

If an average looking tier man shows vulnerability after sex but is emotionally strong, it might or might not work. I think we have commonality on the idea that it is nuanced and somewhat difficult to predict.

Guys can get laid off of the status of being an ex-collegiate or ex-professional athlete. It can work for a variety of sports too. Ex-collegiate athlete status was a crucial factor for one of my local area friends getting to a triple digit notch count. The biggest factor in that triple digit notch count achievement was his 6'4" height, the same height as Tom Brady.

Tom Brady will be able to get laid for the rest of his life off of his NFL accomplishments. He will stay in the public eye as a broadcaster for NFL games for the forseeable future too.

How did you discover that movie? It seems like a random discovery for a mid-30s woman. I think it came out a few years before you were born.

I watched it for the first time with an ex-boyfriend who used to play football in college and he loved it!

With all the streaming services now, movies and series/docuseries are easy to find, they just pop up when I'm browsing which is how I discover many movies and series.

I am actually in the middle of watching 'Nurse Jackie' with Edie Falco which I'd never seen.

Next up is 'The Sopranos"! Which believe it or not I have also not seen!

But 'Against All Odds,' an ex rented it and we watched together.

I purchased it on Amazon Prime.
