Yeah I think it's more about an attitude or vibe; the way you deal with and approach things. As opposed to purely a look. Although some people definitely just do look alpha.

Unfortunately, a lot of girls, especially online, do seem to pre-select and screen people out based solely on if they fit that macho-man alpha stereotype. Like the athletic jock type or tall, buff, square jawed and with chiseled features, beard, certain designer clothes, along with usually one of those sort of douchey looking modern undercuts with the shaved sides, or else a generally clean cut look with a sharp suit and all that. I don't think there's only one look though. And I don't want to conform to that kind of image just for the sake of being seen in a certain way. I don't think the world is divided simply into alphas and betas. There's gotta be something in between. What's the point of looking like what everyone else is trying to look like? When I styled myself that way I got more success online. Now I don't really care and kinda have more medium longish hair a bit like the Beatles or something, with clothes that aren't exactly the latest hip preppy styles, and while everyone says I look cute, I'll admit it's not a classically masculine macho kinda look. In real life, I actually do get positive attention, but online it dropped off. I'm also in fit/lean shape but it's not always easy to tell at first cause I don't wear super tight clothes. Do you really have to conform to that modern standard of "hot" to have much success? I don't think so, necessarily.

Nonetheless I think you can make up for that with your demeanor and attitude. There's more to it. And of course money and success does help but that's not always immediately apparent unless you just flaunt it brazenly.
