Yep. Stupid. Then of course when these idiots eventually run up on some Cops that tase them or beat the fvck out of them, you will see SCORES of black people marching in the streets talking about how:

- They didn't do nothing
- They were enrolled in college
- They had good credit
- They volunteered for homeless shelters
- They were excellent, honorable, people

Any other time....black people ROAST other black people for going to college, having good credit, and being "good people" as acting white.

I've always thought this is largely (though not completely) a myth. I know plenty of Black people (especially women) who go to college and keep their families together and earn good money who are not accused of being White. Indeed, Black women are more likely to be currently enrolled in higher education than any other group.

The most popular kids in the mostly Black schools I went to and coached wrestling at were disproportionately better students although those accused of "acting White" were also disproportionately better students as well. However most of the latter also didn't and don't tend to have very attractive personalities and didn't get along very well with others, including the other high achievers. I think they take solace in the fact that "acting white" = being smart instead of "acting white" as just a general insult directed at the unpleasant.

When you command a certain level of respect, then it doesn't really matter if you act white/smart/etc. Unfortunately that is largely a natural ability (at least in youth), so for the vast majority of just regular folks running around, they will be subject to insults like that.

I'm White but grew up in various parts of North Philadelphia where I was usually the only one. I also coached wrestling in Philadelphia city schools that are mostly Black. And I've known tons of smart kids who were on their way to college or in college who got plenty of pvssy and plenty of respect from the knuckleheads. You don't think guys at HBCUs aren't racking up huge numbers? Succeeding and "acting White" are not the same things. That's a conservative myth.

But, since you mentioned it, along with the "superior" and kind of "prissy" attitudes of the kids who did get accused of "acting White" they did tend to use less slang and listen to less hip hop. That's a different story and one that's still wrong but one that incorrectly gets lumped in with achievement to place blame on kids themselves. However I think this is less apparent now since skate culture and nerd culture have crossed over big time with the students in the schools I have worked at and "acting White" is less of a problem culturally.

Nope....it's STILL a major problem in the inner cities. If you are smart, a nerd, and speak proper English, you will still struggle with getting a.ss in that part of the world.

@Tenacity , I was at work today and a black coworker was talking about the afflictions of the black community. Basically he was saying things similar to what you said about a dollar only staying black for 10 minutes, and that blacks should do what Jews and Asians do and invest in black businesses. He also talked about the "crabs in a barrel" mentality of suffering blacks trying to hold back another black man from breaking free.

I couldn't have agreed with him more, until he chalked it all up to slavery, stated that the KKK "never went anywhere", and then implied without evidence that there are still "whippings and hangings" in Alabama. I couldn't believe the nonsense I was hearing. First of all, organizations that track hate groups have indicated the KKK has dwindled down to about 3,000-5,000 members TOTAL as of 2016. Now onto Alabama...

Granted, I perceive Alabama to be so redneck and racist that even I wouldn't go there as a white liberal Yankee type. Even I'd be getting looks and comments about not being "from these parts". But for some reason I highly doubt there are still slavery-like conditions in some rural backwoods somewhere. This garbage comes from too much Hollywood rehashing of slavery with stupid movies like this "Get Out" coming out soon. The last documented lynching was over 35 years ago, and lord knows the liberal media would love to get it's hands on some raw meat like that if it existed.

Of course, he chalked it all up to the residual effects on slavery, and talked about self-hate and how the "light-skinned niggaz is hard on the dark-skinned niggaz." So everything wrong in the black community today, the white man is the root cause. But one of my problems with the black community is this monopoly on slavery. Yes, Africans suffered the most, but there WERE millions of white slaves in North Africa taken by Barbary pirates. The Chinese enslaved almost every other Asian people, including Japan. Why don't Europeans and Japanese people suffer from "self-hate" when in the presence of North Africans and Chinese folk today??

Just wanted to point out that lynching is now a hate crime & that they sometimes still occur.

James Byrd Jr was brutally dragged to death in Jasper, TX only 19 years ago. Fortunately Texas takes capital crime seriously and they executed the guy who did it in 2011. That doesn't help Mr. Byrd obviously but might deter some other nit wit out there.

While things are much improved awful stuff does still happen. It always will in all likelihood to a small degree because there will always be groups of intolerant ignorant people that exist.

Born and raised in the Deep South. 90% of the racism here in the past half 35 years has been black on white. It's laughable when black guys cry about not having any power when they totally control nearly all the big city politics in Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. Then their retort will be, "well the white man has CORPORATIONS"....translate through all that crap and it means, "Give me something for nothing". Corporations are private and are meritocracies - you make money, you'll move up. Public office is not, and they are MORE than represented equally there.
