"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

I'm sure this has been posted before and if it has, link it to me and I'll be glad to read it.

But, I would like to start a thread of conversations starters when doing cold approaches in different situations. I know there a lot of different tactics and I'll try to list some that I've seen here so far but I would love to hear how you go about doing this--if you can remember that kinda stuff.

I know most of this is situational but I think there are certain common themes that can be applied to almost any situation and of course as I practice I'm sure I'll come up with many more. However, here are a few of my ideas.

Anywhere; Basic Introduction, Comment on clothes. Ask for female opionion on something especially fashion, gossip relationships.

Girls with dogs;
Ask about the breed, where she bought it,

Girls at Book stores; Ask them for reccomendations on certain books

Girls with unusual names, Ask where they're from or how they got such an unusual name

Those are about all I can think of for now...I'd love to know what approaches and openers you use. It seems one of the hardest things for me is still doing the cold approach and keeping the conversation going. I would really like to hear some for the following situations too.

Walking on the street, Park, Campus, Gym, Store,

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

I like the thought of asking a females opinion. More than likely shes gonna blab on and make things slightly easier. From there you can charm them and be good to go.

All those openers were situational.

Situational openers are bad because most cases the girl knows whats going on, that you like her (or else you wouldnt have gathered the balls to approach), so I think its a losing game.

The focus should be, I feel, on canned openers you can use anywhere anytime. My wing started an AIM convo with me by saying "omg celebrities should not be allowed to breed, did you hear what nicholas cage named his kid?"

My response: "Is that your new opener? cause it would work great!"

Something like that, if you can root it, so that its presented like that was the topic you were just thinking about or discussing earlier, can be used ANYWHERE.

You can root it by adding something like "hey, me and my friends were just talking about something, and we think celebrities are total morons. I mean, did you hear what nicholas cage just named his kid?"

Let her interact a little bit, but I think you should do most of the talking at first, so that you can convey your personality and demonstrate value to her before she can use one of the outs your questions present her to hijack the thread (thus preventing you from continuning your demonstration) or ending the thread and blowing you out.

I think having a good solid 4-5 minutes of material (not word for word just general themes the convo will go) prepared is ideal. Make sure to ask questions she cannot use to blow you out (keep it yes/no or brief answer).

The problem with situation openers is also that they can be ended with one line. Example: got any book recommendations? ... her: no, not really..

Kind of like "hey nice shoes" ... "thanks, my bf bought them for me"

Just about any situational opener, no matter how clever you think it is, can be used to blow you out almost immediatley, and whats worse is she probably has heard it or something along those lines already, especially if she is very attractive.

Double trouble there.

For these reasons I say stick to canned material, have solid few minutes of INTERESTING personality-conveying material ready, and only once she is hooked into the conversation allow her to talk freely.

That's a good point there, Joe Dirt. I think I'll have to start reading more of those stupid celebrity gossip magazines and try to remember most of the stuff that goes on in them.

On the other hand I think that if you read it too much you might be considered one of the girls, is that possible?
