Canadian Catnip
Senior Don Juan
So I did the David DeAngelo email and number close on a girl about a month ago.
In case people don't know how it's done, you ask the girl if she has email and if she says yes you give her a pen and paper and say "Write it down." and as she is writing out her email you say "Write down your phone number too."
So back to my story, I did the number close and phoned this girl and thought I had a date but she flaked on me.
I was talking to a person I know, he comes from a sales background, and told him about the girl and the call and the whole situation and he asked me how did she give me her number.
I told him how I did it and how it was a technique I had learned and he tells me something very interesting. He said that how I asked her for the number was an old sales trick that he knew and if I use it on a women to get a number then she probably felt as if she was being manipulated. Just like we all feel when we talk to a slick salesman or a telemarketer who is trying to get a yes from us.
Like when we tell the telemarketer to call back tomorrow and we will be home but we know we won't be around to answer the phone tomorrow. A naive telemarketer will probably call and be surprised that you are not answering your phone like you promised.
I thought a lot about what he said and I think he is right. How many of us are using sales techniques on women and they are turned off by them? David D's number close probably will get you a number from a women but what are the chances she will feel used or tricked by the way you asked?
