lol 9? haha wut the hell????? is this site based in china or some **** i got 1:12 am. lol that means this site is 9 times zones ahead of the equator, thats in wut???? estambole??? lol never heard of it cause i'v never been there.

Actually, I may be wrong but I believe is is set to what is known as zulu, or, coordinated universal time (UTC), which for your location in Alberta at this time of year would be -8 hours from 0912Z.

By the way, time zones are not derived from the equator, UTC is measured from the prime meridian, a line of longitude, not latitude like the equator.
