Senior Don Juan
In my first foray back onto the field last Sunday (which I wrote about elsewhere on the forum) , I tactically erred by giving the "premium" I was dealing with truly premium treatment, which I'm sure she's used to. I bought her a rose. Just to be nice. A nice guy who buys a rose is not what a premium wants, the theory goes. But maybe I had to re-experience that to really learn that lesson fully. I now believe that it was a big mistake. I firmly believe that had I just hello-opened her SANS rose I would have gotten her number, instead of her taking mine (lame), and therefore would have possibly been able to work towards getting something off her this weekend (Sweetest Day is Saturday you know; so I would have called her and taken her out). But, live and learn.
On the other hand, I've been "seeing" , "talking to" , whatever you want to call it, this other broad who I met on the computer a couple months ago, I would say she's about a 7 at best, ok ? Not a discount but not a premium. And the thing is I've been very very "cool" to her. I very rarely call her. I don't email her. I've taken her out three times in the past few weeks and have never called the next day. I paid for the one dinner we went to because I do personally believe that that's the right thing to do, but other than that there have been NO roses anywhere NEAR the equation. Nothing "romantic" or courtly-like here. The real reason for this is because I don't actually WANT a real committment right now, and she's 32, and all her friends are married w/kids, so....... you do the math on what she's looking for. And yet, despite (or actually rather BECAUSE of , I am starting to believe) my clearly "discount" treatment of her, she calls me several times a week. She emails me when she doesn't get through on the phone (which is alot of the time because at night I usually don't pick up). She leaves a message on Friday night and I flat out don't call her back for the whole weekend. Then I finally email her on Monday telling her about how I was in a VIP room at Bella Lounge (even though I wasn't
) on Fri.night when she called and then I spent the night downtown at "a friend of mine's " place. Vague. I thought it might make her think the friend of mine was another girl. And she calls me right after work , still looking to get taken out again, "We've got to go for another drink, it's been awhile, I miss you", etc etc. I say , "Yeah we'll have to set something up". And again I don't call or do anything to actually set anything up. And yet she keeps after me. I swear to God she calls yet again. This has been my first real experiment with "playing" a girl this deliberately, in this manner. But I can tell you, it sure as hell seems to work. Women do seem to be gluttons for punishment, it's a shame to say. I mean doesn't she realize what a sh*tty husband/father, or even b/f, I would make right now??? Well, according to the dude who wrote the book w/the thing about the "premiums" and "discounts" , she probably (even if only subconsciously) DOES realize it , and that's exactly why she keeps calling.
When I was younger I would have been chasing her all over. Calling, emailing, etc etc. And, yes, quite possibly indulging in my particular (although I now swear FORMER ) weak point, sending her flowers. And you know what I would have gotten ?? LESS than "discount" treatment. Now I'm getting the "premium" and I'm putting in sh*t. Here we have a complete game-reversal. Usually girls have the game, so to speak, the upper hand. I wouldn't have thought it when I first started reading this kind of stuff, but this stuff works. The colder you are to them in many cases, the better. Appear disinterested. She will try to gain your interest. She can't believe you're not interested in her and falling all over yourself the way most of the guys do. Appear to be the kind of guy who has "yet to find the kind of woman who has MADE him want to settle down" (that particular phrase works well, I've found, particularly online). She'll make it her mission to try to be the one who wins that "challenge" and does what the "others" couldn't.
Even in the "online game", using personal ads, etc., it seems like the same principles essentially apply. Ignore, treat as a "discount", even flat-out neg an obviously hot broad who's been reading more fan mail from guys all day than Jessica Simpson, and you'll get the best results. One day last week I wrote a pretty good-looking broad a response to her ad, just a quickie, nothing fancy. And she wrote me back, just a quickie. Then I followed up (or really rather did NOT follow up) by showing no more interest in her whatsoever. I did not continue the conversation. I figured screw it I really don't care if I ever get to talk to her again or not. And I DIDN'T really care to be honest. Just as if she were a "discount", which she actually isn't. And today, out of the clear blue, to my surprise, she wrote me back, this is several days later now, and asked what I've been up to, why I never wrote her again, and proceeded to tell me it's hard going through all the emails she's been receiving from guys but she would like to talk to me more. I didn't write back. Truthfully the reason for this was that I didn't know exactly HOW I wanted to handle the situation. I wasn't sure if I should ~ I don't know what to call this "hard" treatment I was discussing above so I'll call it "shark" after the guy who wrote the premium / discount theory ~ I wasn't sure if I wanted to be a "shark" w/ her or just write her a nice email back and see what happens. Well, before I could decide which way to go w/it, just a few minutes before I made this post actually, she emailed me AGAIN (w/out me having made any response yet) and she said, and I quote, "Well, sorry to bother you again, but let me just do this. I'll give you my cell # and maybe we can get together for drinks one night. (Cell #) ". So she just number-closed herself.
I wouldn't have believed it when I was younger but this stuff really does seem to work. My hat's truly off to the guys who came up with this and to the ones who are working and have worked to further test and develop it.
