"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

This is the message I always get, what do you receive?

With very few exceptions, this is the message I always get from women
contacting me first. (online dating)

"Hello.
How's it going?
Hope you are having a good week so far.
I am excited that it's almost Friday.
I am <insert weekend activity>. What about you?"

I'm curious, what are you guys getting?

You mean they actually went so far as to ask you a question other than "how are you?"??!

Mostly the same actually pdx - in which case I often tell them to try harder next time, and they usually do. That's probably the case about 70% of the time when a girl initiates contact.

The other 30% tends to involve the girls qualifying themselves against something I've said in my profile.

This is a common text message. This is a blessing in disguise for you, because you have time to be witty with your response. A woman is looking for you to win her over in some way other than your looks, unless you were able to sleep with her the night of your first meeting.

It's a test. The only times I didn't have this test were during the times I actually built a legitimate rapport (long conversation) with a woman. Yes, it's unfair. And the sex will not be good unless she's tight and is willing to lay there.

Most of the time they either just send a "smile" (a function built into sites that allows them to initiate while telling themselves that they're not), or a more involved message where they tell me how great my profile is, blah blah blah. Those ones are always invariably too far away. I appeal more to the midwestern type of girl, and I'm in New York.

For context's sake, this is my profile (one of them anyway): http://www.pof.com/viewprofile.aspx?profile_id=23824703

And this is an unsolicited message I had come through the other day, trying very hard to qualify herself - not that I mind:

"What a coincidence I was craving some uncomfortable silence myself!

Liked your profile I am a walking oxymoron as I am a blonde with a genius IQ - it's awkward.

No full length photos but there is a head and there is a body and you can sticky tape them together.

More disappointment - the bike is not mine - the legs are."

One of the better efforts to be sure, just one small problem, she's 49 and the worst kind of wannabe cougar (peroxide blonde, slutty stockings, miniskirt). Oh, you guys will love this, she's a social worker (see my recent thread).

“The 22 Rules That Flip the Script With Women… And How You Can Use Them Tonight”

Most guys accidentally kill attraction before they even speak. They assume they need a bigger bank account, a better physique, or smoother lines. They miss the point.

Female desire operates on a specific set of psychological triggers.  Break them, and you're invisible. Follow them, and you become magnetic.

I learned this the hard way. Years of freezing up. Getting friend-zoned. Watching other guys walk away with the girl I wanted. Then I discovered a set of 22 simple rules that rewired my entire approach.

When I was on there I could care less what a chick sent. Usually people say hi in person. It's no big deal. The thing that's hilarious online is chicks claim to expect a book report intro when almost anything you read from guys on sites like POF who do get unsolicited emails from women it's always "hi" or a one liner. Yet if you are tall, aesthetic, and cut up they'll drop their 'requirements' in an instant and could care less if you sent a simple hello before they're replying with their phone number. Hahahahaha. True story.
