Just do projects with test case, expected result, actual result, pass, fail etc on website etc.

Also put in your cv/resume:

-manual, automation, pen, performance, black box testing
-knowledge of SQL
-knowledge of the lifecycle
-test tools such as selenium, postman
-jira
-knowledge of agile
-bdd

I actually know a guy who did this got himself a tester job.

thats the path im taking to get a coding job. I made sure to learn the frameworks, and the entire stack so when you move to development you know what to look for and how to design it. I also wrote my own web apps before hand which helped immensly. I know more than many of my co workers with decades more experience. Some folks are with stuff being a black box, but if you learn how it works you put yourself ahead in this regard.
