I doubt the dude was jacking. Most people didn't die suddenly. It took several hours for the dust to settle on everybody. A slow, painful death most likely. Dude was probably just grabbing his junk instinctively. There was probably a significant time lapse between "loss of consciousness" and "death anyway."
