"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

Tonight, I went out with a group of friends and while it was very fun, I might have made a HUGE mistake regarding what I said involving this chick.

We used two cars, so our cars kept calling back and forth. One of my friends starts asking about a girl he thinks I like (I don't), and things do not get pretty:

FRIEND: Hey TCK, how's HB8? Are you going out with her?
ME: Hmm...what are u talking about lol?
FRIEND: Is she in the car with you right now?
ME: Yeah (sarcastically), she's going down on me right now (sarcastic)
FRIEND: WHAT WAS THAT?
ME: Yep, you heard me - she's going down on me right now. Friend1 and Friend2 are next.
FRIEND2: YEAH, I get her pvssy!!!!
FRIEND: Is she going to do anything else??
ME: Yes - she will be giving road head to Friend 3 (who is driving)!!
FRIEND: What TCK??? (repeated 2X)
ME: She will give road head to Friend3! (repeated 2X)

We were all laughing, since it was just between us friends. This was until I was told that my friends in the other car recorded the entire thing, and will be showing it to her on Monday. These friends in the other car are not the most sane, so I believe it is highly possible it will happen.

When/If she finds out on Monday, facing impending death/physical harm :box: (just kidding), what do I do?

A.) Tell her the truth "My friend brough your name up, so I played with it. I made up this whole thing just for entertainment and had no idea they were taping it."

B.) Pretend to wear a "disguise" (sunglasses, winter hat, etc, just for fun) and maybe bring some padding/protection since she might strike (w/ her, it's possible).

C.) Try not to make any sort of contact with her ( like eye contact)...though we are in a class together, as well as 2 of my friends from the other car.

D.) Other (maybe something like "don't sweat it, not much will come of it").

I know this is a little goofy, but if she finds out about this (likely), I feel I am in a bit of danger, and I don't want that. I do have 7 school days left in my HS career, but I don't want something like this getting out. MY sane friends think I'm screwed though, because my insane friends will likely show her it. Any help here is appreciated. :nervous: :nervous: :nervous: :nervous: :nervous:

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

well, coming up with bull**** just wont get you out of this situation.

the best you can do at this point is if/when she hears that **** that your "friends" (dont even know why you call them friends; that's just ****ed up..and since theyre really going to exploit you, theyre not really friends.) you should apologize to her for that IN PERSON then walk away* and let things unravel from there. if she cares then she'll accept your apology, but if she doesn't then it's pretty much your fault for letting a joke like that get outta hand.

* : what i mean is, when you confront her in person, if shes all pissed off at you, dont get angry back at her its not worth the trouble. instead of getting angry, accept the fact that what you said/did caused this, apologize on a high note, then walk away with no turning back. (literally and figuratively)

Dude, you were joking around. If she hates you because of that, she has more problems than you need to deal with.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

Thanks for the advice...I wanted to see how this could play out before I responded here, based on some recent events.

To answer Doc's question on why they taped it...when I go out with a certain group of friends, some of them bring digital cameras to catch any funny/great moments, and then will post them online. Apparently, this "moment" is one of those times.

I saw the video(s) of this event they put online (they have another one where the other car comes out and they're laughing about how they got me), and it's not too bad. I think the first half of her name is heard once, and that was it - I don't think it's really conclusive. The kid who taped it apparently screwed up putting the part where I say the girl's name in, so I can assume God is on my side here. :)

If this chick does see the video and assume we're talking about her, I'll use j8snx1's advice - tell her the truth and walk away.

EDIT: It seems that kid (who filmed all this) PUT THE PART WHERE HER NAME IS SAID REPEDEDLY ON THE WEB!! I may be in some trouble tomorrow lol...

There's two options you can take.

1. Beat up ur "friends" who are ****blocking you and take back the damn tape and delete it or break it.

2. Totally ignore it and laugh it off if you don't care about the girl. If she comes up and asks just say you were kidding around and that if you offended her your sorry.

From my experiances option 1 works better since I won't have to deal with all the drama it'll cause later with the girl and your friends will never do that again... I did option two and it sucked totally ruined my chances with her but we ended up being "friends." It's your choice tho hope your friends are cool and chill like mine enough to forgive you if you choose to do option 1.

The best thing to do is be straight up with her IF she finds out. Don't overdo the conversation, and approach the whole thing in a funny way. It's interesting how a chick will mirror your attitude.
No need to dig a hole for yourself if your "friends" never get around to have her listen to the convo. Yeah, sure she'll be probably be pissed at first, but you can use this as an opportunity to gain some respect by being honest with her in the face of adversity.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

This is really funny. No,it really, really is funny.

What kind of friends do you have, man. And that winter hat/sunglass thing was the funniest I've heard.

Just act like you were playing around, and throw in a joke along with it.Something like,'Oh yeah, well Im sorry if you didnt like it,I just thought I'd give a girl like you a good reputation with the other guys.'

WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!

Based on how this all went, NYC Dude's reply is the closest (if not dead-on) to what actually happened........................

Right before the class I have with her, all my friends start hollering and march me into battle (I was psyched lol b/c I felt confident things would end up being alright) - some acquaintances nearby came with us too (I had such a huge gathering lol). Luckily for me at the time, the computer wasn't working real well, so she never saw it in school (it cut off right as I was about to be exposed).

So, I came up with a plan so she doesn't go after me in school (it was likely). I showed her the film later that afternoon. I explained the entire thing, why it was there, etc. and she seemed to understand eventually (after saying I was disgusting lol) and I thought we were cool.

Apparently, I was wrong. This chick and one of my friends in the group are IMing each other. He tells me that she HATES me and one of my best friends in the group (the kid who was recording it oddly...we have a weird relationship, but are loyal and have been friends for like 10 years). Also, she seems to be content with this friend IMing me, because she doesn't think he'd stoop down to my level. Three notes:
1.) He and I are the ones who organize all this (when we go out with the group). Obviously, he's with us here - I dunno where she got the idea that my friend was dragged in came from.
2.) He phone-tapped her a few weeks ago. But no, the girl does not even have in mind it was him who called. She balmes it on me and my "loyal" friend, cuz we were also in the car...WTF
3.) Other girls have said I am very mature, even after seeing these videos (they say I was just having fun). I'm not bragging at all, but it shows you this girl may see things a little differently.

As it turns out, she hates me and my "loyal" friend only, and dislikes my other best friend, because he is friends with me and "loyal" friend and he talks to us (obviously) in the class we all share together, though he hardly knows her.

Obviously, she has some issues here. There are 6 days left of high school (2 more class periods with her), so I really don't care. If she hates me after a joke, so be it. As NYC Dude said, more problems than I need to deal with.

50 bucks says they didn't record it. Who would think to record a friggin' phone conversation.

She may get "mad" if they did record it. All you gotta tell her is you were just screwing around. You hate people messin' around in your personal life, so you showed them whats up. Simple as that. Don't apologize. Don't make any bull**** excuses. Tell her straight up that you were screwin' around. She'll be fine.

They did record it lol. They have it up on the Web, and I've seen it. (Where's my $50? )

I did talk to her - even showed her the video (post above this one). I did not apologize. I actually did some of what you suggested (my main point actually). Unfortunately, she wasn't exactly fine with it lol (again, refer to the post above yours).

How bout you hook us all up with the link to this recording.
Second, don't even worry, you were obviously being sarcastic and joking around with a bunch of good friends, they probably wanted you to admit that you liked her and then show it and its all embarassing, instead you made a hilarious situation out of it and two friends were involved.
Chill.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
