"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I was just thinking, whats the deal with girls with bf's?

I like this girl and her best mate is my best mates gf.
I find it hard to talk to her but not with her best friend who has a bf.
Shes fit as well but for some reason i find it easy to talk to chicks with bf's.

I think its because i think they are not thinking of me in that way cos they got bf's.

So why do i find it easier talkin to them, knowing i couldnt possibly get any action from them?

Wierd eh?

I think because if the girl has no bf, then i could get some action from them.
I think knowing this, makes me nervous and might do for others and can make you bottle it for some reason.

I have seen my mates do this before even me once or twice.
Its a dodgy situation in a way.

In some ways it could be a good thing. In a post i read, it said you should imagine that they want you.
I think i can do this really well as i always think they do.
I think its because of the eye contact triggering desire or summat like that.

But when im with a girl with no bf, i think of us two gettin with each other for a bit and then get all nervous.
Being tipsy eradicates this problem of bottling it, but i cant get a bit p*ssed evrytime before i go out.

Any comments, i wanna hear some views on my problem that sounds a bit silly overall.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

Thread owner: Classic case of wanting what you can't have (well, you CAN have, but that's another story all together).

Why do you think girls like guys who get hit on by a lot of other girls, and who are always going out and stuff? Because they're jealous.

You're jealous. The single girl doesn't present as much challenge/untouchableness as the one with the boyfriend. That's all.

Maybe its the other way around.. I've read a few times that girls with BF's are much more confident because they can be, and I've observed it myself. Perhaps they are better at holding up their half of the conversation so you naturally find it easier to talk to them?
