"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

I wish I was posting this with an answer to the question I have on my mind, but I'm not. I'm unable to find the answer to the great, big "Why?"

Why should I spend so much time chasing girls?
Why should I work my ass off to make money?
Why do I live?

I'm an extreme atheist. I don't believe any god exists, I believe that when you die... nothing you ever did will matter. That being said... Why should I live?

I've never been able to find an answer to these questions. Still, they haunt me constantly. I can't help it, but these thoughts keep on popping into my head and keep on making my whole life seem unworthy of living.

I know I can't expect for you guys to give me the answer either. I didn't have anywhere else to tell this, so I posted here in the hope someone can give me some guidance...

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Hey bud i know where you stand. Life is **** but obviously we have to make something out of it or else like you said we are nothing and basically should die. Its almost y u come here and its about an aspect of being dj, which is to be busy. Dude you (i think, just my opinion alright) you need to find things that you can get invovled in and that dont make you think about things like this. I came up with something in a class last year when my teacher asked me wat i think life is about now i kinda think it has more sense to it than i ever thought it would. Basically its life is crap and it sucks, but we (as people) are here to help each other out and make sense out of the chaos that life is (so basically help people out somehow, maybe thats wat life is about so that when we help each other out we all make each others lifes better ya know)

I have the answers!

The girl Ive been posting about is very religious... and she questioned my beliefs at nausium when we first began seeing eachother.

Lying on your death bed, that last moment before you die, you will find beautiful comfort in the legend you leave behind - the people you have influenced, those who have loved you, the lives you have changed.

Or you will be tormented by an empty, or poorly lived life.

We live for the good of those around us. We live for our legend. We live, for the beauty of life.

Although I used more figurative, emotional language when explaining this to Chelsea, this is essentially how I feel. Embrace the animal nature inside you - you live for the sake of life itself. We are insignificant... and that what makes choices we make so important.
