"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

ok, here's the deal:
i am from germany, (but currently in usa) i was an afc (could someone tell me what it actually stands for?), but thanks to ss and the bible, i changed.

now, i needed to get a prom date, and since i am still not the most popular guy at school and thought that asking a random chick for prom would be really awkward.
so i talked a little bit with a chick from class (body8/ face7) and fluff-talked/ c&f 'ed a little bad.

today after class i walk up to her:
me: hey, do you dance?
she: yeah, hm, sometimes...
me: well, DO you actually dance?
she: yeah, but I don't like that "phreaking" (grinding) thing...
me: because i thought about asking you out for prom, but if you can't dance, i wouldn't take you.
she: well
me: ok, think about it, tell me monday.

question is:
-was that good (gimme props!)
-what is appropriate to waer at prom?
-do i need a gift for her?
-are there special american prom-routines?

thanks

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Imo, you did pretty good there mate.

1. afc = averagefrustratedchump
2. ok good things, you didn't seem desperate. you told her if she can't dance your not taking her. you said let me know on monday, so if the answer wasn't initially a "no," she'll probably be thinking about you and whether she wants to go all weekend. that's all i can think of
3. wear formal clothes. white shirt, dress pants, tux or suit, tie, nice shoes.
4. i'll skip this question
5. again, i'll skip this question

A. Sort of. Good idea, put it a little akwardly though.
B. Formal. Some guys think they're all cool when they wear "pimp" outfits. I'd stick with something classy.
C. No. A corsage or whatever is all you need.
D. Yes, eat dinner before, go to the dance, have fun, go to an after party, have fun, go to somebodys place, have lots of fun, go home.
