The Weapon of Non-Verbal Communication

Thank you Lord Jesus for revealing this to me. When we think of communication we think of words or phrases. However the words are less powerful to the listener than the expression of our eyes, face, body and voice tone. Women are the biggest analyzers of body language. Observe successful men and women and you will notice that they are communicating volumes in body language.

"Women speak two languages, one of which is verbal.'' -Steve Rubenstein

The fact is that there is never a time when we are not communicating with our bodies. What we think is a interior thought or feeling often finds a way to express itself through our bodies. Winning in poker and attracting women are similar in this respect. A poker player's opponent tries to read his body language to see if he is bluffing. A women is also trying to read a man's facial expressions and other body cues to make determinations about his suitability.

The Human face uses many muscles to express a very large number of emotions, responses, statements, and attitudes. Humans and animals alike also use many sounds that are not words to communicate to one another or the group. Do you remember when a teacher would snap her fingers to tell you to stop talking in class? People clap and make noises after a various types of live performances. Dogs growl if you try to take their food and rabbits thump the ground to alert the group of danger. Women examine men to find any and all nervous ticks, defeated posture, chin down, and other facial, body, or tone of voice that give a man away.

''Seven percent of a speaker's message comes through his words, 38 percent comes from his title or position, and 55 percent form his 'body language'''.
-Psychologist Albert Mehrabian

The old wives tale that if you have a sour look on your face it could freeze that way permanently is actually quite accurate. The expression we hold most of the time eventually forms our default expression. Smiling denotes confidence, a sly or mischievious smiles communicate sexual interest when directed to a partner. There is a facial and body expression for just about anything we want to communicate.

The best way to begin to become aware of this embedded language and it's subtext is to watch TV(ex:SITC)with the sound off and try to notice and understand what is happening and what is being communicated between the characters via the non-verbal language of eyes, face and body. Observe how Alpha males use non-verbal language to communicate conflict, threat or dominance to other males and how leading men use eyebrow raises, side smiles, brow furrowing and body positioning to excite women and even initiate sex with very little conversation.

Insanity is continuing to do the same thing expecting different results.
-Albert Einstein

Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) refers to Neuro ''mental'' and Linguistic ''spoken or non-spoken language''. Programming is a computer term refering to a recurring method for dealing with a problem. To effectively change body language, start by programming your mind to succeed. Pay attention to the things you say to yourself and the expressions you are giving yourself in the mirror when you are alone. These constant words and actions are programming your mind. Use Self-Talk to give yourself a pep talk and encouragement like your own Coach and Mentor . Look in the mirror and do some body language excercises. Practice walking and holding yourself confidently, smiling and making ****y and funny expressions etc...Do this every morning even if it is only for 2 minutes. Good Luck!
