"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Here's something you hardly hear mentioned here and something I have very little experience with - the one year anniversary of dating. I noticed a remarkable shift when you reach that point.

1) She perceives things as romantic that previously would have been missed.
2) She wants to cuddle (oxytocin or pair bonding chemical produced versus PEA love at first sight chemical).
3) She starts talking about having children together and the subject becomes a theme.
4) Her body is not the same (in some cases hotter but more often fatter).
5) She reminds you time is passing. At the one year anniversary it's probably best to settle down or leave her.

I wondered if any of you had experienced this and what else to expect.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

The children thing is going to be a persistent theme. Eventually she is going to try to force you to marry her by acting like she is going to leave or something. She is going to want you to *** inside her. She's going to all of a sudden start acting like a total b i t c h at random because she figures you don't like her enough to marry her, it's going to start bothering her. Near the end she will think cheating on you is justified because you must not really like her, therefore the relationship is null and void so she is going to try to sneak in dates.

What a scary concept - having children. No matter how non-jealous we were before, at some point her faithfulness (or lack thereof) becomes a factor. Then we have to either care or find someone else not to care about.

Equally scary is her fading beauty. It's amazing how quickly women age sometimes, and how a few extra pounds changes their look.

I suppose the two cancel eachother out in a way. My dad always said if you don't want competition, date a fat girl.

Also, at just about exactly one year, you both discover just how bat sh!t crazy the other party is. Then the decision must be made if you can live with that or not. For me this always happens at exactly the 1 year mark. I can set my sun dial to it.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

These things usually happen at the 3 month mark for me.

I must be on an entirely different planet than you. I find that generally, nothing has changed with the fact that her IL has gone even higher. The only thing I'm finding is that she's mentioned living together a couple of times.

3) She starts talking about having children together and the subject becomes a theme.
All women do this. It's unavoidable. I had a vasectomy and my gf talks about having children one day, and living together (and even marriage) another day. Women can't help but talk about having children because it's in their nature. My gf knows she cannot have any with me, but the subject still comes up. Eventually, it may boil down to her being so attached and dependent on me that she'll give up on having children.

However, the last LTR I was in was a bit different. At 9 months, she was talking about moving in, marriage, and kids. I was worried about her getting the wrong impression from the approaching one-year anniversary, so I got rid of her. But she was 34, never married, no kids, so her desperation was tuned into her biological clock.

Atom,

You still use sun dials? :p
Indeed yes. Back in the day I used to get the Pharoah to all his beheadings right on time due to my advanced timepieces. As you know, nothing we have today even comes close!

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Old people like Atom Smasher often have difficulty dealing with modern technology.

You should see his calendar - he has a replica of Stonehenge in his backyard.

this seems to be the norm. women default to getting fat. men do to but our hormones keep the process at a slower rate, women blow up really fast if they dont care body image anymore.

so there you have it, LTR = fat girl.

I never understood why people gain weight in an LTR. Being comfortable in the relationship is a ****ty excuse. I don't see when people become content not looking attractive. I don't see myself ever being content overweight.
