"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

I learned this lesson the hard way last week, ...
case in point

a)

this chick was giving me her email address ,she had to go quick, so I spelled it out in to my voice recorder. Got home, is that a p or j is that a r or ra ? I was **** out of luck trying to get that email address again.

b)

chick number two. I actually tried typing into the cellphone, when I got home, I noticed I had an extra digit at the end..wtf ??!

c)

This a true story. I went to a party with just my cellphone one time, I was doing good, but right at the beginning my phone ran out of juice so I lost out on alot of number right then..

bottom line, dont let this **** happen to you! I mean, I just spent all this time trying to get these numbers and couldn't even folllow up on them and lost them because of this.

now I carry a post-it pad and an pen in my pock

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Hmm I was going to make a post on number exchange but I figure I'll just post in here for the sake of not cluttering up the board.

While i see your point about utilizing pen and paper because cell phones are unrelibable, also concider that you could just as easily leave your phone list in your pocket, put it in the laundry, and loose everything just as easily as anything you posted going wrong with your cell phone.

I was out last night and did two approaches both resulting in me getting numbers. And ofcourse I did a number exchange rather then me just getting her number or vice versa. My friend on the other hand (who was quite drunk) decided just to get a number from a girl without confirming or anything. He then texted the girl to see if she made it home okay and the person on the other end texted back "who is this? I wasn't out tonight, you must have the wrong #" He was pissed (but he was also drunk so it wasn't that bad) either way the two girls I got numbers from I know are authentic and the girls will in all likely hood call me, and I'll know who they are when they call becaue there name will come up (this way I don't confuse one with the other). I actually did the exchanges forewards and backwards. One girl I had put her number into my phone, with her name, then she called herself and saved my name in her phone. The other put my number in her phone saved it under my name then called me and I saved her name. Without a shadow of a doubt I got legit numbers. I can't fathom any other way of getting some one elses number other then the exchange way. It's smart and it's easy.

Here are some side notes as well

Never use a recorder in a loud place for an email address. Just put the girls name in your phone and put the adress in the other field (My phone has a spot for email address which is also good)

Always check a number when you put it in your phone. If you can't do an exchange, re confirm the girls number to her by showing it to her or verbalizing the numbers. If you have any discrpencies (like an extra didget) you'll see it then rather then after when it's too late.

Always Always monitor your cell phone's battery strength. I've got a manual charger with a dynamo crank that can at least give my phone a temporary charge in a min or two if I'm away from my charger too long. It cost me twenty dollars and has saved me on more then one occasion.

That is all

LOL what on earth do you tell her when she asks WTF are you doing?

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

Paper and pen isn't always better. last summer a girl wrote down her name and number on paper with a sharpie, and although I could make out her number, I couldnt read her name (or remember it, it was something unusual), so I didn't want to call her and ask for someone who's name started with an 'S'.

Eventually, a few months later, she called me (another good reason to exchange numbers), and we got it straightened out, but pen and paper messed things up for me for awhile.

Actually a girl asked me what I was doing when I was using it. Keep in mind it's a device no larger then your cell phone so it's pretty inconspicuous. When I told her what it was and why I needed it she was impressed. Having clever gizmos doesn't hurt your image in the least.

Luckily my cell has a voice recorder. I just tell to record her name and number. And to help jog my memory when if I forget who the heck Melissa, Joni, Rebbecca or whatever the fvck she records, I take a picture of her too and attach it to her recording. Gotta love technology... :D

pen and paper all the way.

Somes things should be kept old school.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
