The Lazarus
New Member
It was a dark and quite night in Existence, whose full moon lit up the entire night sky. Along the frosted ground lay a potpourri of rotting leaves and mud, where they rested like sludge, stuck to the surface of the earth. The only sound heard was that of the chilly wind, which came in gusts forcing debris to drop into the hole at the base of the lone tombstone.
The stone lay cracked and slanted against a large rock for support. The markings on the granite were no longer deep, but rather smooth with the surface of the stone, making it difficult for anyone to read the etched markings. Only one word was eligible under the light of the full moon…it read LAZARUS.
Lazarus loomed over the stone at the foot of the hole and looked out into the surrounding darkness. He cleared his throat and with a booming voice called out, beckoning for he that could hear him to come.
Moments later, a figure carrying a lantern makes his way toward the scene. He walks with his face and body against the wind, which is tightly wrapped in a warm Armani overcoat, and around his neck rests a soft Versace scarf. As he walks towards Lazarus, he curses at the sludge, which has now covered his designer shoes.
“Of what life do you live?” roared Lazarus, still hidden in the shadows.
“That of the Don Juan.” Replied Self while taking a few more paces closer to the gravestone.
“Oh, and of what life is this?”
“I make love with any woman that I choose.”
“I see. So what makes you different from the PUAs and Players?”
Self stops and ponders. After a minute passes, he replies with a smirk “because I am the best. I have perfected the PUA’s art, and I have been with more woman than any player could ever handle
“So then, is the Measure of the Don Juan, represented by the number of woman he has seduced?”
“Yes!” shouted Self.
Lazarus then takes a step out from the shadows and into the moonlight. Although covered in mud, his features are still distinguishable. He is known, he is defined, he is what he is, not what he has become. He wears glasses and stands with a slouch. His clothes are simple and plain. His hair wraps around his ears in a messy uncombed fashion. Yet, aside from this undesirable appearance, his eyes glow with an intense, yet, unwavering fire.
“Impossible!” Cries Self as he falls to his knees. “Why do you appear as I did in the past, what are you?”
“I am you, and you me. We are the same; only, I am who you were before your journey to become a self-proclaimed ‘Don Juan’. I am the part who you blamed for all of your lack of success with woman. I am the part of you that became nervous around girls. I am that part of you that sought isolation for lack of confidence. I am the part of you that you hated. I am the part of you that you cut out of your life and buried. I am also the part of you who had ambitions larger then life itself; and dreams more distant than the eye can attest. The part of you that used your genius to work towards your life’s goals, not recreate them. Somewhere between the articles read and techniques memorized, I was destroyed. Your focus became centered in only a single dimension; getting laid. You read every article available on the subject. You started going to the gym. You gave up mathematics for the mystery method, and science for real social dynamics. And you began to see results. The better the results became the further I was pushed back. You changed everything that you once were, every marvelous thing that made you different from everyone else, to become something that does not represent you but rather conforms your personality and actions to that of the PUA gurus’ mentalities. In the process of becoming a lady killer, you killed yourself.”
“I got rid of you because, I didn’t need you. You were a loser. You were a joke to everyone around you. You never got laid. I cut out the part of me that was holding me back in life. I am something now and you were nothing.”
The fire in Lazarus’ eyes flared.
“You are such a fool. You have not become anything that you were not already. The only difference is now you respect yourself and have confidence. All you needed was a mental shift, not a complete recreation of self. A Don Juan does not change into somebody else when things do not go their way; instead, they change everything around them. A Don Juan does not forget his dreams to become what society deems cool. A Don Juan holds onto his dreams and peruses them with passion. Society’s viewpoints do not alter the Don Juan. For the Don Juan conforms society, he sets the measure of what is cool. A foolish man gives up his ideals for another’s. It is his world, not theirs.”
Self slowly rises to his feet.
“Perhaps you are right, maybe I did not need to recreate myself to become the suave man that I am now. Maybe all I needed was a little more confidence in me. However, people like me now. I am desirable. Sure, I may no longer have the drive to change the world, but I have a new drive now. I like playing the game. I like getting laid. I am more than a man now; I have become the envy of other men.”
“And what have you to gain from all this besides getting woman?”
“I respect myself more then I ever have.”
“Will you still respect yourself, when you turn sixty and have nothing to show for your life, but stories of how good you once were at getting woman to sleep with you? Getting laid doesn’t make you a Don Juan. The measure of a Don Juan is seen in his actions, and in the reactions of others. You have learned some interesting ways in demonstrating confidence, however, this merely allows you to display a false confidence, not your own. The measure of the Don…..”
“But I have lots of sex now! I am confident, women respond to me and….”
Lazarus’s back went rigid and the fire in his eyes erupted, pouring out a glow that covered his entire body like a blanket of shimmering gold...
Glowing, Lazarus shouts over the cowering Self, “SILENCE.”
Self grows quite.
“A Don Juan is not measured by his success with woman, but rather with his success in life. To measure up to a Don Juan one must learn and understand the guidelines of what makes himself one:
The Demeanor of a Don Juan
Do not be an *******, nor a nice guy, simply do not be a pushover. You must be absolute and resound in your actions. In your thoughts, one should be precise; remain clear and open to the opinions of those around you. This does not mean you must follow the opinions of others, it simply means you should not be stubborn. Maintain a flexible mind. Never change or sacrifice your personality in order to conform to a group. Let those in the group have a chance to respond and accept your personality.
The Insight of a Don Juan
Know your environment. This includes the objects in your surrounding proximity. Do this so you are able to behave in a respectable fashion. You must first display respect to others before they can respect you.
The Influence of a Don Juan
Never try to influence people by force. Instead, influence through emotion. Be empathetic. Influence displayed through emotion can be the most contagious; therefore remain positive and you will see positive change. Know emotion, so others cannot use this tactic to influence you. Influence is power. Use it sparingly.
The Don Juan’s Social Circle
Break barriers, so others will open up to you emotionally. Leave your environment and explore. Meet new people. Discover new thought patterns. Expand your base. Let the world get to know you, by first getting to know the world.
The Ego of the Don Juan
Do not put yourself on a pedestal. Put no one on a pedestal. Initially, treat no one differently. Let everyone earn his or her own place in your value system. Therefore, treat others as you treat yourself. It is easy for inspiring Don Juan’s to set-up their confidence so high, that their brain swells. Confidence needs to only rest at the extent of fearing no one or any situation. Confidence should not dwell in your brain like a thought; it should become an unconscious action, such as breathing or blinking. Confidence is not to fill one up with pride; it is to humble oneself. Patience walks hand in hand with humility. Your confidence should serve you rather than destroy you. Once confidence becomes natural to oneself, one is able to respect everyone and know what makes him or her different from you, however valued no less.
The Don Juan’s Value
A Don Juan should not place his value above others, he should, rather, increase the value of those around him. This does not mean shower the objects around you with flattery, rather leave them feeling more positive then they felt before their encounter with you. Elicit your value, so you may shape stones into diamonds. Let your positive state influence them, allow it to change them, let this mould them into a better them. A Don Juan brings out the best in all people.
