"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

I live with 10 college/recent grads in the house along with the landlord.

One girl in the house has recently starting to laugh at my jokes, given me eye contact. We went on a house trip last month, we touched shoulders while taking pictures. It went well.

After the trip, she is avoid eye contact with me, don't come to the dinning room like she used to. She reject coming out to another trip the following week.

Something is weird. I immediately began the NC.

It's been like a cold war. When I run into her in the kitchen, I'd give her a stare and a "who you think you are" look. I don't let girls get the upper hand.

She notified landlord she is moving out next month, I am shocked! She said the co-worker can't pick her up from home to work.

What is going on? Did I scare her? Or is this a test? Com'on I am not really hating her. Does she handle pressure this poorly?

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

She doesn't seem that interested. If you've already lived with her for several weeks as your post implies, and the farthest you've gone with her is "Touching shoulders", then I'd say the chances are pretty slim to none at this point. It could be from one of many reasons, including:

1) She was just never that interested to begin with
2) She was interested, but you took too long to make a real move and now she has you friend zoned forever. (Most likely scenario).
3) There's another guy in the picture.

You said that she started avoiding you AFTER the house trip where you touched shoulders. Could it be this was your time to make a move? I know from experience that waiting too long to make a move, or not taking advantage of a situation in which she wants to have sex with you, WILL definitely make her lose interest, and quite fast.

You said she has been recently giving you eye contact, and laughing at your jokes, etc. just how recent is this? Before or after the trip? If it was before I'd say your chances are rock bottom low at this point, almost zero. If it was after I still think it's a long shot and she's more likely to be playing games. But from the sounds of it (and her moving out and all) it really doesn't sound like she's interested at all at least not anymore.

Hi, Meisterman. Thanks for your advice on the situation. You have very good points, I definitely agree with your assessment of the situation.

Perhaps I waited too long, perhaps I think too much.

Landlord told me she complained I didn't do dishes very clean. First complaint against me ever.

It's time to stop the cold war with her. Let her live her life, let me live mine. I hope she does not do anything in retribution.

Nominated for AFC Quote of the Year 2014.

Next year, to not win, some pointers:

1) A month is a long time in the dating world - it's a whole ovulation cycle.
2) Touching shoulders while taking pictures does not count as a base.
3) When girls like you they do not avoid you for more than 2 weeks, if at all.
4) A house trip does not count as a date.
5) If you were in her photo, and she liked seeing you together, she would have posted in on FB and told you how many likes it got.
6) If she complained about you to anyone but you, she is indeed avoiding you. This is very likely because you are, in her mind, "that guy who likes her".

You sound like you need extreme makeover DJ edition. I recommend a 3 day cleanse, more sunlight, and an organic diet.

When a man meets a true female prospect (one who will survive the test of time), she will stop short in her tracks at first sight, hold eye contact, smile, carry on a conversation, extend her hand, ask his name, ask what he is doing this weekend, offer her number, text him on the spot, make plans on the spot, and be willing to let him kiss her goodbye (at least on the cheek). She will also tell him (later) that when they met she felt immediately drawn to him. Once you realize how obvious it is when a woman is truly good to go, it dawns on you how much time you wasted "pursuing" women who were never going to be even slightly interested, and wondering why they seemed to hop in bed with a new guy overnight. Be that new guy with a new girl. You can only get there slowly, through lots of dates and lots of failures and successes.

Hi, bigneil. I see the tough love from you.

I mean she showed interest first, then I began to pay attention to the person (her) who paid attention to me. Usually out of curiosity.

Normally, I get to know a girl, we would have this period of "fighting". She plays hard to get, asks for attention. I completely ignore her. She hates me, some even complain/talk trash (more attention seeking, IMO), and eventually give in to my arms.

But the problem is, this process could take months and a lot of energy.

In the end, I get the girl, but I come out very tired, though the process can be fun too.

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

LandingWood, I don't know if I'd agree with the ACF title.

I did not put her on pedestal. She is incapable of whipping me around. I am the prize. In fact, she is so afraid that she is moving out.

I was being a jerk, the only thing I did not do was kick her butt. I probably have overdone it in, by the way I treated her.

Maybe I over-read her initial interest, maybe I didn't act fast. But I think I've been on the right track.
