I just started reading The Game by Neil Strauss. It is a great book!

At first I thought it was going to be a book about all the stuff I already know that can be found online. It has much more than what I expected and is very valuable to me. You all should read it if you haven't already.

I now see this forum in a new light

"The Game" is the biggest pile of horsesh!t there is.

Whoever believes the events in the book are real needs a reality check.

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

The book is as far as most people get...the entertainment of another man's life as he learns the game...90% will never really actually go as hard as those guys went.

It was however a well written book despite some of the lies and misconceptions, but thats because of how it is written. He makes it seem like he sneaked into this community like CIA and exposed it when really he was just another guy who practiced, got good, and wrote about it.

I'm interested to know what events your talking about? Project Hollywood was real thats for sure, a ****load of guys living a mansion and going out to the clubs were real. There are many guys in this community who used to live there and some can even mention what happened after the fact.

However the way it was written was the reason why there were a bit of lies and misconceptions. The guy was the real deal despite him making money due to his marketing and all that business stuff. If you read some of the older guys archives they talk about his skill at get women, he was getting celebs, pornstars, strippers, models. Heck he's even seen in a high end porn video (No he isn't ****ing) he had to have some sort of connections to be in it.

Many guys could come out with there own book about there transformation especially the ones who go as hard as Style and others have, because they surely can document some real good stuff due to how often there out there.

Take for instance Jeffy's Chess club Field Report in his archive, the guy had a "Kill Bill" **** List where he vowed to **** this chicks whole social circle in 1 month. From the fatty to the 9 it was 5 chicks. In the end he ended up ****ing the original chick who caused him to do this because prior to all this they found out he was learning this and she said it would never work on her or any of her friends.

That story alone could take up a good amount of pages and be even enhanced with good writing skills.

Can someone please clear up what are the lies and misconceptions in the book instead of just stating that they are there, so that guys don't fall for it.

No, just burn the book and forget everything you read and start to become a real man.

OK this is the third last time I will say this: THE GAME IS GARBAGE

The ONLY thing that is going to work is for you to get out there and condition yourself to get rejected over and over again. Only then you will realize what works and what doesn't work in the seduction of women. We are so afraid of getting rejected because of our fragile egos that it is damn pathetic. You think an athlete gets ripped from reading Health magazines? You think the rich get rich by reading Fortune 500? You think musicians learn guitar by reading notes? The only way they all succeed is by CONDITIONING themselves over and over again. Then and ONLY then results can happen. Get out there, get some game and stop reading damn books.

It takes BALLS to get laid, figuratively and literally.

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Personally for me, "The Game" was a starting point for me.

To me, all it did was give me hope, and inspiration. I don't use it as reference material. Even though a few openers are still salvagable
"Who lies more" opener still works great.

It was a stepping stone for the greater picture, It led me to where I'am standing today.

And I have no regrets. "The Game" is a entertaining story at best, and it serves only as a introductory into the PUA scene.

The events described in the book are entirely real. When it came out, Thundercat posted a review of it on his blog/site. He said the only discrepancy between real life and what Strauss wrote was that some of the time lines were a little off. He switched some events around to make the story flow better. I think the biggest one was was Strauss' meeting with Tom Cruise, which actually took place I think when Style was first kind of getting into the game. There was one other liberty Strauss took, but I can't remember what it was. It was pretty minor if I remember right.

This isn't anything out of the ordinary for a book like The Game. Most writers who write memoirs take liberties to make the narrative and plot flow better. A memoir differs from a biography in that there isn't as much burden of proof. That doesn't mean memoir writers can flat out lie, but they can do things like make minor changes to time lines.

Yeah, as if reading a book makes you any less of a man. I've read it twice now since it came out. Not because I want to mimic Style or Mystery but because I think it's an entertaining book and Strauss did a pretty good job with the content. I don't think Strauss is that good of a writer, but he did a good job of creating entertaining characters for his audience.

Besides, I don't know who would read the end of that book and still decide that they want to be a PUA. I thought all of them, with the exception of Strauss, came off as complete nut jobs.

And one other thing, for you guys who are just getting into the book now. If you look back in the SoSuave archives, you'll find a thread where Papa relates his account of hitting on Paris Hilton. It's kind of cool to read it over.

couldn't have said it better, its no manual but a story. And yes there are some openers and techniques that i liked.
