These misconceptions/illusions have caused untold blood sweat and tears to me. I hope they will help you avoid some pain. BTW not ALL women fall into these categories but MOST do.
MISCONCEPTION #:
1. WOMEN ARE MORE ROMANTIC THAN GUYS. WRONG. Women are PRAGMATISTS. They appear to be romantic because they like peripheral "touchy feely" mementos of affection. But you need to know they they are really demanding material PROOF of your feelings. This is anything but romantic. More evidence:
A. Men assume women are romantic because they are romantic themselves.
B. No man would ever marry for money. Many women do.
2. WOMEN ARE PRIMARILY LOOKING FOR A SOULMATE. Actually, women are looking for a dominant, masculine, intrigueing, unpredictable, active, strong, prosperous, normal, funny, man. They soulmate equation comes into play AFTER the other stuff but even then they don't want a completely transparent and emotionally available guy because they won't consider it masculine.
A. Women have girlfriends to meet their emotional needs.
3. WOMEN ARE LOOKING FOR AN EQUAL PARTNER. This is tricky. Actually, they seem to want the partner to SAY she's equal but demonstrate more physical and emotional strength.
A. While you're agreeing she's your equal(in ability) you can be sure she has no intention of changing a flat tire.
4. WOMEN NEED MEN MORE THAN MEN NEED WOMEN. Women can live alone unmarried easier than men because of:
A. A more extensive social support system
Studies have shown that divorced males are much less happy than divorced females.
5. WOMEN ARE LOOKING FIRST FOR A NICE GUY WHO CAP MAKE THEM LAUGH. PERSONALITY BEFORE LOOKS. Looks are becoming more and more important to women.
A. The reason for this misconception is because it 's virtually splashed about on every magazine cover "POLL". "I just want a guy who can make me laugh". "I really want a nice guy". These polls however are:
A. Simply an incomplete story. What a woman means is that if she finds a guy who is masculine, prosperous, handsome, then a sense of humor is great frosting on the cake. But nice and funny are simply not enough to capture her attention.
