There is the concept of the State having a "monopoly on violence", as it is recognized as the only institution that should legally be able to mete out violence. Similarly, the State should have a monopoly on the regulation of the money supply, so as to not have fluctuations that would make business relationships untenable.

As for crypto, why the h3ll should some programmer(s) get a huge windfall for setting up a cryptocurrency? This windfall is something that the State should enjoy.

At the very least for the same reason a governor gets rewarded a six figure income. Their work is public and heavily scrutinized.

They also these days have the monopoly on what is consider true or false according to what fits their agenda which is even more quite concerning and scary. RIP freedom of speech since 2010ish.. If they don't like you then they censor you.

Government executives are vastly underpaid, but it's made up in PowerCred. I have a cousin that was a governor, and he figured out a way to use his office to get paid a lot more. (RangerMike will about know whom I am talking about. )
