"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

Not everyone who looks emo fits the stereotype so well.

Just today I met a guy who has been called emo many times (as he told me in response to being emo) but by talking to him I could tell he was actually a very well balanced and confident guy, as well as a very interesting dude. He was well travelled, played many instruments, had a diverse taste in music, he was an accomplished artist, a good writer, and he was funny to boot. It came as no surprise that he had many attractive women in his life.

And, I know from the many girls I've talked to about the subject that a lot of quality girls would find his tattos, facial piercings and even black eyeliner (a la green day lead singer BJ Armstrong), on top of the above qualities very attractive.

There was nothing wimpy about the guy. He fit the artistic, intelligent, and absorbed in his hobbies stereotypes, but he was no wimp.

I hate crying over girls as much as the next guy, but I don't think that's what the girls are finding attractive about these guys.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

My ideas why women are attracted to emo-guys.

- the whining offers a context for conversation, if they reframe everything to themselves it looks like they have the dominant reality. Girls feel comfortable around guys who have something to talk about.

- emos are like potheads who really don't care about anything but their next dose. Girls feel comfortable around them because
#1. guy will not judge the girl (because he doesn't give a ****)
#2. guy doesn't give a ****.
#3 guy needs some help, the girl can try to repair him (useless ****).
#4. girl can have his drama from the guy's indifference and selfish act.

The main thing I guess is that girls feel comfortable around these (fuked up) guys. These guys probably do accidentally enough right things (not acting wussy because they don't even think about the girl) to keep the girls attracted.

Quote from Tyler Durden's post "Social Intelligence - vibing" [http://www.bristollair.com/outergame/skills/socialvibing/]

"As guys, we don't care. We might feel nervous that we'll have nothing to talk about, but we want sex. But girls, if they feel uncomfortable, they won't show up. That's one reason why guys who smoke pot get laid alot. Girls rarely flake on them, because they have that social presupposition that will give comfort. For the rest of us who don't smoke, we use SOCIAL VIBING rather than FORCED social interaction, to maintain comfort."

my friend whom i will refer to only as the Crapster
was the biggest scrub in the world,he stunk had
raggety hair , had tattoos all over his body that HE did
himself, was a drug addict, was a freakin' p**sy in terms of
fighting, he was soooo stoned out of his mind all the time
that he spoke in a low mumbly tone and you could NEVER
understand what the hell he was saying-
he was very poetic and was also an artist.
he had a certain "smoothness" to his character
like Snoop Dog that it made him irresistable to girls
yet frightingly distubing enough to keep them guessing and
on their toes...

..the girls LOVED HIM and to this day is still one of the most
natural DJ that i know.
i've actually SEEN girls literally pull his clothes off and rape him!
i was ready to jump into a shower stall with him and two
fine ass girls at a party (woah there -it's not like that sparky!)
before one of my freinds was hating and tried to join in also.
and screwed it all for all of us!

this guy would throw house parties and walk around
only in jeans smelling like arm pitt and sweat and
girls would go freaking bonkers over him.

the sad part is that it wasn't an act...
he was really a messed up guy and he was dying inside,
he might have gotten girls but i really doubt he
even cared that he did.

we would get high and he'd talk about his dad ,trying to
kill himself and all sorts of crazy s***
i could see the vulnerability as well as anger inside
of him and could understand how it could trigger a womans
natural instinct to nurture and mother him -
both in a sexual & loving way.
but since i ain't a woman i'd usually sock him in the
gut and offer him a beer or a couples lines of coke...
he snapped out of it!

the other sad part is that me and all of my friends
also fit this self-destructive type also for a long time...
getting girls was really only a side effect.

well he finally settled down with a red headed bombshell (HB10) and now has a 3 year old...

Ok, I get it, Emos are those goth-type faggots who get mad when I talk about sports and have their gay haircuts matted down on their heads and they have absolutely no muscle tone or any penchant for athleticism whatsoever.

Yeah, I just call them girls.

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.
