Thanks guys for all the help and advice i think that is all i am going to need for now Btw tried out your thing alle, seems quite useful but i didn't do it on a empty stomach. i know most of u think i am crazy for the goals i am setting, but i can feel it and regardless if i get it or not i am very sure i will improve a lot faster by doing so and thats the whole point of this. It was never about the money if i manage to beat this guy i would donate 200£ anyway.

Seeing u guys have supported me through this and helped me i will post the result on the day, but for now i am going keep my head down and train and live my life. If i do need help on anything before the day i will post before hand and i will try out all these new things u gave me.

Thanks

That is everything you need to know about the 400.

I would also like to say that your goal is pretty unrealistic, but I still think it's possible to break 60, since you're starting with nothing. When you start that out of shape fitness improves quite rapidly, ecspesially in the first six weeks of training. After that you start to stagnate and improvement take a little longer. It's all about how you respond to the training. But sub 60 is a long shot.

Now, I'm a distance runner and my 400 PR is 55 off of mostly distance runs, so you have a long way to go.

far out adam that is a good site hey. dont know if the OP is still checking here but he should definitely have done something like this.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Hm i hate to say i got only 65 seconds on the race and lost it by 3 seconds, I was able to hold the same distance with him through out the race and i was going to try and overtake him with the last i got on the 100 metres, but out of no where a big wind hit and those last 100 metres dragged on forever.

i could make excuses why i lost it, but i will not. I am going have rematch in like 6-7 months and i am definettly going to get it in the 50-60 range then. This took me by suprise though after i hit 70, it was so difficult and i wasn't hardly seeing any improvement.

I managed to lose a stone like i said and my body is looking lot better than before so i am not complaining about this. I managed to knock off 22 seconds off my run time, so that isn't so bad either. I also really like the 400 metres, it is the one i found most difficult, but i guess that is why i like it. I also tend to work on my weaknesses rather than my strengths.

Hey Noob with the boxing i am going to just train on that harder and build my endurance up more to, whilst doing 400m and half marathon training bit in my spare time. This should pretty much knock off time slowly slowly. I was also thinking of doing some mma and i am actually naturally pretty good at it and wrestling when i went to few classes before. Also adam thanks for the site it looks like its got lot of information and i really appreciate it. I don't usually put favourites for sites, but i did for that one lol.

Ok well that is all i am going to say i will not leave this and i am going to update my time every 2 months on this thread.

Hey RD - i still think you did really well with this - you improved yourself and that's never a bad thing. You should definitely be able to achieve that next goal of being somewhere in 50-60 secs in 6-7 months.

I've been reading some of your other logs and you seem to really know what you want. I would humbly suggest to always keep a touch of realism about your goals, it is one of the underestimated elements of goal setting/achieving. It will help you set shorter time-based goals that you can achieve in a set time-frame, allowing you to reset higher goals. It reinforces the habit of achievement. Very impressed by your dedication though - keep it up man.
