"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

The all-inclusive Charisma Thread.

Disclaimer: There is no substitute for some good old fashion experience. You should only go on the boards to sharpen your knives.

Everyone has their favorite Seduction tactic or mindset. You have probably been told be Alpha, be Confident, internalize I am the Prize, Be ****y and Funny… etc.

Forget all of those for a moment.

We are going to find out how to be Charismatic. I have read a lot of articles on this subject, and many of them were insightful, but no one of them were simple how-to manuals. They say just hold the floor, make other people listen to you when you talk, be respected, be a leader, be magnetic, be happy. You know what I say to that? **** that. How do you do those specific things? When they tell us to be this or that without explaining how it just makes us more confused.

So lets start over. Lets pretend we are teaching a brand new AFC how to become charismatic. I think a definition is a good start. Charisma – Having a certain charm, or magnetism to you that people like. You appeal to everyone. Okay, good start.

Common Aspects of Charisma:
(In no particular order)

1) Humor - Now we need a role model… Comedians. Comedians can get whole crowds of people to love them in a very quick time! How? The secret to the comedian and a part of charisma is rapport. We need to learn how to connect with anyone in a very short amount of time. They can make these people laugh and feel loose. So if you can make someone happy (laughter) and comfortable (loose) it makes sense this person would consider you valuable.

2) Respect – Be a fair person. Get to know people before you judge them and if you don’t like someone don’t let everyone know. You don’t want to act like a broad. Assume everyone you meet is your friend until proven otherwise. Use innocent until proven guilty method here. Be grateful for what you have.

3) Happy – Be loose by having relaxed posture. When life is stressful or tough don’t complain and try to roll with the punches. Be in a positive state of mind. You life could be worse, think about it. Start smiling more. Find success in life. Win small battles in life for example I am happy if my pro baseball team wins or if I made a bunch of lights that day, anything. Don’t be so serious, joke around, and mess with people. Light up when you see people and act like your excited to see them.

4) Spontaneous /Creative - Be bold, If you see a risk take it, just don’t end up on the COPS T.V. show. Be silly sometimes but try to do it in a situation you control. Read Owning the Thread in Tactics/Techs. Do things people don’t expect. Keep them guessing. Use your environment around you for props and role-play a lot.

5) Other – Teach people things. Read magazines or something so you have a lot of things to talk about. Practice your stories and routines so you can become a good storyteller, emphasize emotions when talking to girls and use pauses to add suspense. Learn to elicit values and then relate to them. Create inside jokes with everyone you can.

If you get all of this down, all of the other things will snowball. If you develop these characteristics of Charisma then you will be the Prize, Alpha, Confidant or whatever. I don’t know everything about charisma mostly because I naturally am not very charismatic. I’m sure most people aren’t either or else they wouldn’t be on the boards. So go out and watch the life of the party type people. Watch them and find out why they are the center of attention and report back here.

One other note once your on top and you can attract a lot of attention, be scarce.

This is what I have gathered so far from my experiences in life and from the boards. I realize I probably didn’t cover everything in maximum detail but hopefully you can get the gist of charisma.

P.S. I also posted this on masf.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Nice Post.

Did you go out and get the experience to put this thread together, or did you just collaborate everything you've read?

It's good to see a summary of some things,

Welcome to the board

Both I'm not naturally charismatic but I have a few friends who are so I learn form them.

This is a post I wrote about what inspired me to write this.

Owning the Frame:

My friend constantly uses this technique where he creates a situation where he is control/ Alpha. He will pretend something is real then make everyone else interact with his pretend object a.k.a. entering his reality. Confusing I know.

For Example: At baseball practice yesterday he was carrying his glove in an unusual way. He was cradling it like a baby. We were in a stretching circle of about 20 guys when an unsuspecting AFC asked him why he was carrying his glove in such a strange way. He looked at him like he was crazy then literally scolded him for waking up his baby. He was so serious that it was hilarious. He had to pardon himself from stretching for a few seconds to see if his glove was asleep or awake then made the kid apologize to the glove.

It was hilarious. I could’t believe he got a kid to apologize to a glove. I cant even think of a way to combat this when he does it to me. I usually just agree with whatever he says is going on then we go hunting for people to catch off guard. This is really fun and I recommend it to all.

Also in my social circle we create slang/ inside jokes. We use them around others, and I notice it makes them look bad when they have to ask what each term means.

nice post, its seems a very good summary of what has been said on charisma. Although isnt it a bit arrogant labelling it the all inclusive charisma thread. But props to you for posting this, im sure it will help some people.

lol, roll with the punches

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

Nice post, although it might have been nice to see in the tips section as I don't tend to visit this forum.

I agree that charisma is a VERY important DJ trait and it's one thing I certainly have a lot of. I developed my charisma by doing sales work where you have to be friendly to strangers every day, charm them, make them feel special and learn to communicate on their level.

A very important aspect of developing charisma is to see the best in people and let it show. Show an interest in them and communicate with them as if it's a joy to see them.

A person with no charisma will wait for someone to talk to him/her, give the other person control of the conversation and only talke in response to questions. The charismatic person will approach someone, ask them how they are, what they are upto and what they have been doing and try to engage the other person in conversation. When you can do this, people will feel like they know you and will flock around you.
