Master Don Juan
One day before moving day, everything in the house is packed up early so I can just get up and go. The internet, phone and cable television was shut off. The computer was packed, TV was packed, even the radio was in a box. As you can imagine, it didn't take long before boredom struck and I had to get out and do something.
Almost all of my good clothes were already packed and I didn't feel like going through box's just to find a good shirt. The only thing decent I had was a decent pair of jeans that I picked up at a skater shop a few months ago (skater isn't my look, but I liked the worn out - he must work on cars or something manly - dirt look to them). Then I saw a brown flannel shirt that my grandma had gotten for me on my 18th birthday (two years ago). Obviously, flannel went out of style ages ago. But I was kind of amazed how perfectly the shirt matched the pants.
So, I put on the shirt and decided to go out and get a few laughs. But not before adding a few touches. Remembering one of my mothers ex-boyfriends, I put my ciggerates, a pen and a notepad in the front pocket. And to finish the look, I threw on a baseball cap. I always thought that he had no sense of style what-so-ever but halloween was coming up anyway, right?
I got nothing close to what I was looking for. No one laughed, no one! Just smiles. I would be pissed but the response from women was amazing! I got 2 phone numbers from women without even having to say a word. I went to see one of my co-workers at work and she couldn't stop staring at me. Finally, I asked her why no one was laughing at what I was wearing and she says "it actually looks sexy on you".
What was meant to be a joke (and making use out of clothes I never really wore) turned out to be a good casual dress look. Sense than I've worn the outfit three other times, just to see the results. And each time, the response was amazing. However, I still refuse to wear red flannel.
I've come to the conclusion that flannel shirts should come back into style with men. Not only is it comfortable and warm, but it's manly and tough looking. Which is what I think women liked about it.
