"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

These are the moments where I really appreciate having Wyldfire on the boards. (AND Penkitten) Not that i didn't, before but you get what I'm saying....

This was very enlightening, to see how a woman's mind works on these stressful occasions. and having it so well explained, with the reasons behind the feelings.

I learned something new, today... and that hasn't happened around here in a very long time

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

food for thought: maybe, unlike you, i don't treat this internet thing so seriously, and therefore i do not feel that I need to fully convey my sparkling personality through my computer. maybe, i'm just secure enough not to care..

No one on here is interested in you sexually. It's dumb for you guys to try to impress each other unless you are gay.

Stop it...

Egoist is using C&F on Wyldfire. I can see it's getting to Wyldfire. The attraction is building up. Pretty soon you two might need a room.

For the sake of letting guys in on what probably went through this woman's mind at that moment (logical or not) here's a list. Pen and Wyld, feel free to add to the list if I have missed anything.

  • That he didn't really want to help out.
  • That he probably doesn't like her son because you are trying to avoid him.
  • He is inflexible.
  • He doesn't care for her feelings.
  • He is not someone she could see being with in the long run since your actions show that you don't integrate well with her family.

As I said, it may not be logical (to a guy) but these things probably went through her mind in just a couple of moments.
Like it was said earlier, she was under a lot of stress and wanted to make a good impression on her family. The only things that are more stressful for a woman than preparing Thanksgiving dinner for her family (with boyfriend in toe) is preparing for her wedding and having a baby.

And guys wonder why she went off, that one action changed the direction of her entire future. Scary huh?
having the first baby is stressful because you again are trying too hard for perfect delivery and labor and baby etc. having the second or third, well lets just say by then most of us have come to our senses a little and its not stressful.

Figure the odds...

Now I do like funny guys...but I don't find him funny at all. I guess I just have a more sophisticated sense of humor...you'll have that.

Every day could and sometimes is stressful, no reason to blow up on the person who is next to you or a loved one.

Give me a break. So he should put up with her blowing up on or around stressful times, which could be EVERYDAY?

She seems disrespectful. Sure she was over emotional and you should talk about it with her when she is done being so emotional.

You should at least understand that children are really important to woman, so if shes a priority for you then so should they and its not like she surprised you with the kids, did she?

The way I see it something happend which happens alot in relationships, someone screws up and the other person completely overreacts. You should try to talk it through and dont do the whole "get back together at Christmas" thing, youll just screw up Christmas, do it as soon as possible.

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.
