Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

Hey dudes,
Just wanted to know what you guys think about best ways to text to confirm a date in this situation.
I've got one that was setup for tomorrow but the communication has dropped off a bit.
I could definitely stand to improve my text game a little; I think I dropped a little TMI in my last text especially, and my texts are double the size of her's. Hope I didn't blow it.
I attached the convo to this post.
Would it be best to just text her tonight "Hey, we still on for tomorrow?"

Here's some background... wall of text incoming.
TL;DR: Met a girl at a family wedding on Saturday. She happens to be my cousin's best friend, my cousin (let's call her Jen) brought her along as her date. We'll call the girl Alice.
Jen tried to ****block me pretty hard twice. I was dancing with Alice (a slowdance song, our bodies pressed up against each other) and talking with her to try to get to know her, asking her what she studies, etc.
As soon as the song ended, Jen came up and grabbed her and took her to the other end of the dancefloor. I was pretty taken aback because I didn't expect Jen, being family and all, to pull that.
I left the dance floor to talk to my cousin Jack, and explained to him what just happened.
He told me that Jen had just broken up with her bf she'd been dating for 2 years or so, and probably wanted Alice's full attention. Okay, whatever.

Jen hogged Alice the rest of the time they were there (probably about an hour longer).
They started saying goodbyes to the people around there table, hugs and conversations and whatnot. I walked up to Alice and said "You guys taking off?" and she opens her arms to give me a hug and goes "Yeah, it was so nice to meet you!". I go "you too! Hey, why don't we grab a bite to eat sometime?" to which she immediately responds "sure!"
I handed her my phone and tell her to put her number in, and as she's putting her full name and number in, I asked her what days she's free, and she said Wednesdays and Thursdays.
"Okay, cool, why don't we do Thursday at 8PM?" to which she immediately responds "sounds great!"
Here comes Jen again for ****blocking attempt #2 (literally after just a minute of talking to Alice), "Dad has the car pulled around, and he wants to leave right now, like RIGHT NOW." (bolded for vocal inflection).
So I give Alice another hug, said goodbye and they were off.

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

Text her before you start getting ready, before it's too late to make alternate plans for the day, if she hasn't confirmed by then

Radio silence before the date is generally a very bad sign unless she confirmed the night before

I typically don't text to say "Are we still meeting at X at 8pm" or whatever. I will text her just before I leave or on my way and say "On my way". After all, I am so much fun to hang out with that why would any woman even think about canceling on me. Right? ;)

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. Good info.

I ended up texting her about an hour ago "Hey Alice we still on for tomorrow evening?".
I just got a reply.
Time to write this one off? Should I even bother responding? "Hey alright maybe some other time"?

That two day and hour+ response times would personally p*ss me off. You think she would wait that long if it were Jason Momoa? Even if she had class, it's not like you can't use your phone.

She's not interested in my opinion. I had to deal with something similar recently and if she doesn't want to meet up, then you're wasting your time.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

I have used all these with success.

"I am going to be fifteen minutes late"

OR

"See you later hun" (the time your date was scheduled for)

Never ask a question, like " are we still on?" Always make a statement. This is all you need, if she is going to flake its not because of you confirming.

This one is done. Text her back saying, cool I will give you a call next week to set something up but you never contact her again, if she has the slightest bit of interest she will be wondering why you never called, why isnt he chasing and maybe she will reach out but plan on never seeing this chick ever again.

So you texted her once then again the next day before she even responded? No good bro...low interest...she likely is gonna flake.

If you want to send something is send something early in the afternoon like "Make sure you wear something sexy tonight ;)" and see what happens. I'm guessing it will be some BS excuse at which time you say "Oh Ok, well have fun with that." And dont contact her anymore but instead start finding other women to date.

Good advice but I would be careful confirming with that statement, she might think you are just looking for sex by telling her to wear something sexy, especially if you haven't built enough rapport with her. Depends on the chick. Works well on slutty women though :) Womens brains are always looking for a reason to justify a flake.

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

Man no offense but that is just textbook low interest. Good learning experience for you though.

In the future keep those texts short and to the point. Playful and fun. The more it looks like you expect a reply, the less likely she will reply. Never ask more than one question per text. No questions per text ideally. I've noticed women tend not to respond when it feels like they're obligated to respond. You were waay to eager. Do what Mazer suggests just because it'd be a fun little reverse psychology experiment.

She: "I'm sure I'll see you in the future around"

Blaa Blaa Blaa ,Can't be more uncommitted txt.

Girl who cancel without counter offer ==> very LI ,. Plain and simple.

I don't think It'll make any difference what you'll txt her, but maybe experiment anyway with Mazer suggestion, as suggested already here ,and see what's happen, just for your own learning curve.

Judge by action not by words.

Don't use this. A smart woman will see right through it.

You know that you're going to be running 10 minutes late 2 or 3 hours in advance?

Chance favors the bold.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Yeah that's what i was thinking, if she thinks about it at all she'll come to the conclusion that you're planning to be late or have another date or something.

She's probably not going to do it, but a girl who flakes based off of one little minor comment like that would've either flaked inevitably or the date would go badly as soon as you say anything lol
