Which one is better? or does it depend on the girl? I feel texting is better because when you text her she feels more comfortable and doesnt have to converse immediatley or in other words she has time to think about what to say. When you call she might feel pressure and/or more nervous therefore being scared to ie. say yes to haning out. I know calling might show more confidence but texting might be easier for the girl. Which one is better?

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

It depends on the conversation, having full conversations is better using the phone. Having full conversations via TM is what teenie-boppers do because they have nothing else better to do at that time. People who work for a living don't have that much idle time. Unless you are just sending a message to ask a question or make a statement, leave the conversations to face or face or via the telephone.

what about if its a girl you havent talked to in 2 weeks cause you kind of fvcked up with her somewhat.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Awesome thread. Next time I'll make the HB call me.
A bombardment of SMS is for KJs!

Jigga - Man it up. Call her and get it over with. No sense in letting your self-esteem suffer while your down. Start off the phone convo light and funny if she feels pressured.

In fact, I've got this HB who's screened 3 missed calls of mine and one I left a voice message this week.

I'm calling back in a few days and going to role play the call in such a funny way that I don't care that she calls me back. If she does, cool = date. If she doesn't = next. No big deal! Back in the field I go!

Try to stay away from text messaging/instant messaging. Stick to emails if you're going to do text based communication, they tend to carry more weight and give you more control over how you communicate.

Email < Phone < In-Person

I prefer texting for the exact reasons you wrote here. I will call after we've texted a number of times or after we've dated, but usually when I get a girl's number I will text back and forth for a week or more, chatting generally. I find it helps break the ice and build a little rapport, and gives me a good indication of interest, before I ask her out. What's more, it allows me to screen her and see if she's worth asking out. I've had 100% success doing this and when we come to our date, we've already broken the ice.

Also, that period when you're texting her and not asking her out gives her time to wonder about you and leave her guessing whether you are interested. That's always good.

One last thing I'll point out is that while calling shows confidence, many girls I've called don't have that same confidence and go to pieces. Sometimes I could literally hear her trembling and stuttering nervously and it's clear they're not comfortable talking.

I think texting rocks... It makes a statement that "You ARE worth 30 seconds of my time for me to send you this text message, but you AREN'T NECESSARILY worth 2-3-10-15 minutes of my time for me to call you, because I may just be too busy for you right now, but didn't want to leave you hanging.."

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I usually will only call girls to set up dates. Txting for when I want to leave them a quick note or something...which is probably 2 at a time and is usually rare. it works for me. If they call me, I end it in about 10 mins.

Waste of time, only good for setting up meetings and events.. Why would you waste money talking to someone who's not even infront of you? Short to the point and save your efforts for a face to face experience.. Your private time is your time why share it with the ears of another. As for texts even more time consuming, when I'm driving I like to see what's going down around me not some meaningless mixed up letters...

There's a time and place for calling and texting. Typically if I want to have an extended conversation with some one I'll call them because I only get like 200 text per month, which is actually all that I need and some. There's no way in hell I'm going to text back and forth with a some one detailed plans or a story of some kind for 20 or 30 text. The time involved in that can be cut in half or more just by talking to the person.

If I'm meeting some one in a loud place like a club bar concert etc etc and I'm having trouble finding them then I'll send a text message because then I don't have to worry about "what did you say?! I can't hear you! Speak up, I'm leaving this is stupid!!!" because we can simply read "I'm in the upper left balcony" with no major inteference. Also at my jobs, I'm not really allowed to take personal phone calls either on the floor or in the office, but I can get away with texting because I can stop at any point and attended to buisness as necessary. Usually my room mate will shoot me 1 or 2 text at work telling me what he's setting up our outting plans for the evening and what not.

As for as it goes for girls, It's hit or miss for either. Because they have the option of either not picking up or responding to your text. If then send you a text or call you first then it only makes sense that you could or will respond in the same way. Though it's important to not that the situation dictates which one I would use anyway. If I can see that this girl is going to txt me back and forth for an hour, I'll text "I'M GOING TO CALL YOU" to cut that sh*t short. But if she's calling me and I'm at a place that I can't awnser the phone I'll text "I can't talk right now call me at 6" or something like that.
