as stated before by everyone else past relationships aren't a good subject to talk about...but if you know what you are doing you can actually use this topic as a way of getting girls willing to go more out of their way for you.
when you talk about your past relationships, dont focus on the negative things about why you broke up. instead focus on the things that she did that made you stay together for as long as you did. say things like,"well i've had a few long term relationships, but the reason i think the long term ones were more successful was because they treated me how i enjoy being treated. when i'd come home from a hard days work i'd sometimes get a back massage, she'd cook for me a few nights a week.... etc.," start listing some of the things that you want in a companion. then at the end say,"but in the end we just felt that we were not compatible for each other and parted ways."
by talking about these positive things it will make the women want to either raise to that level and start doing those things for you, OR end the relationship right then and there thus doing you a favor since she isn't what you are looking for anyway. on the other hand if you speak about the negative aspects of the relationship, instead of trying to rise up to your expectations, she will just try to remain above the level of your previous girlfriends which will still be an improvement over the previous ones, but not nearly as much as the in the first case.
if she asks for a number remain calm and reply with something like,"i've met many girls in my life... some were more interesting and enjoyable to be with than others. but i do not beleive the number to be important at all. some people have better luck than others and find that special one after only a short amount of time while others may spend their whole life searching. the only thing that really matters is the person that i am currently enjoying myself with"
thats one way to take care of that, while staying in control of the situation.
