"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I'm reposting this one, just to see if anyone else has any input. Many thanks to those who already posted, and to anyone else who can help.

Alright, I'll try to summarize as best I can:

I'm an ex-Nice Guy, AFC, however you want to call it. I started looking at the DJ bible around six months ago when I was at rock-bottom. The posts by Pook really inspired me to devote myself to doing what I love in life, and I'm better for it. I don't treat women the same way (ie, kissing ass, Nice Guy S.O.P.). The problem is, now I've gone to a different side of the spectrum: I'm a complete a$$h*le, usually without trying to be.

It seems I can't open my mouth without saying something offensive. Sure, it used to be funny as hell, but now I'm starting to get worried. It's like everytime a girl even talks to me I start flashing back to how things used to be like, and I get super defensive and say whatever simply to shut them down. And this is not the kind of a$$h*le attitude that's successful: I get even less play than I used to. I want to have fun, damn it, this isn't who I am!

Positive: I don't NEED a girl anymore, although I do want one. Negative: I don't know how to find a balance between not being desperate, and being a woman-hater. If anyone's been here before, or at least has some idea as to what I'm talking about, hit me up. Peace.

"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

I went through the same phase. Super Nice Guy (I'm mean the world Greatest Catch) Yeah right. My wife left me in 2003 so I did research and came
across David D. it was a good starting point but it only made me hungry for more information.

After doing a search on google I came across sosuave.com
(not the forum) and was instantly addicted to the amount of information available to me. Day and night I read and read and read and then I found the forum in late 2003.

During the whole year of 2003, I went from nice guy to a str8 up @sshole. The information was great, but I let it turn me in to a monster. Everybody say I'd change an didn't really like hanging around me to much anymore. Me being the @sshole I was, didn't think I needed anything from anybody.

Then I realized that everytime I would do an approach, some how I would just end up jacking everything up because I thought i needed to be an @ss to get the girl (boy was I wrong).

After being an @sshole for awhile I started easing little by little to the point where now I'm not a total @sshole or no where near being a nice guy. To tell you the truth, I'm happier now than I've ever been.

Actually I'm back in states now. As far as sarging in Afghanistan, I wouldn't know cause we were busy fighting the war plus alot of those people actually try to kill you.
