"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

I've gained 10 lbs over the last month but it doesn't look like any noticeable change at all. I'm about 6'2" and I'm wondering if it's more like every 15-20 lbs of weight gain is when there starts to be noticeable changes in size. Because I've seen shorter guys gain ten lbs and you can tell that they're bigger. My goal is to get up to 170 in the next two months and then try and get to 180 by May with a little bit less body fat. Would it be a significantly noticeable change for 40 lbs at my height?

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

The taller you are, the more patient you will have to be.

Im 6'0 183lbs, and I really dont feel or look that much different than I did at 140lbs. From my experience, it depends on your natural physique. It seems like everything expands in its current mold, your overall frame doesnt change that much. Ive always had a strong back and big hips/quads, and huge deadlift improvements made them both explode, while the skinny parts barely improved. Imagine a wide box with branches.

You have to be patient, especially at 6'3. I recommend avoiding pook's thread 'what every skinny guy should know', it builds absurd expectations. According to Pook, I should have hb's fingering themselves all around me. At +50lbs, he can pretty much have any woman he wants, women are scared to look at him. Keep in mind he's 6'3 making these outlandish claims.

I see short guys at my gym strutting around like they're BBing champions just b/c there muscles are more visible on their 5'6 150lb frame. The other day one guy was shoulder pressing 40lb dumbbells grunting like he was a fighting a bear, and then after the set he drops his db's emphathetically and stares at me as if to challenge me to do what he just did. So I looked at him, then the 350lb barbell in front of me, then back at him, inviting him to try deadlifting it. 'No thanks'.

Nobody notices their own weight gain that much, no matter how tall they are. Nobody notices their own weight LOSS either like that. The only exception would be if you are really trying. I dropped from 285 to 235 in high school, and I could barely tell my fat loss until I did a picture comparison. Every time I gain muscleweight, I have a hard time noticing that, too, until I put on an old shirt and notice the difference in fit.

I'm 6'1, by the way.

man i need to improve my grammar skills

not only did i spell the word 'empathetically' wrong, i used it in a context that made absolutely no sense.

word of the day:

emphatically: adj., Forceful and definite in expression or action

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Espi brings up a good point about gaining muscle mass vs gaining weight. I'd bet the farm his 25lbs of dense muscle over two years looks much bigger than my 43 in under 6 months. Dont judge progress by the scale, it can be deceptive. I know a guy 5'10 just over 200lbs who looks twice my size, I guessed he was 230 minimum.

Yeah I guess it's probably a combo of not being able to notice the changes since i see myself every day and my weight gain not being pure muscle. I look at the mirror too though usually while i am on the scale. I mainly use the scale right now to make sure i'm eating enough to gain weight.

Don't look at the mirror OR the scale!!!

I have a digital camera, but for those who don't, you can get a walmart throwaway for cheap..

Take a photo of yourself now, in a week, take another wearing the same shirt (this is important). In another week, do it again, same shirt. Every two weeks, make a note of your weight, for reference.

After a month, have the photos developed and get printouts, this isn't expensive either. Now, take those photos, and compare them. Do you look fat in picture 4, and bone skinny in picture 2??? what was your recorded weight around the time you look best?

By wearing the same shirt, you are the only different, and you can judge which "you" looks more like "you".

With mirrors, we get tricked, because we change so slowly, our minds see us as us, we can't really pickup on the small differences. In photos, 10 pounds can really show, even on taller frames.

When I was 16, I was told by my doctor that I was 40 pounds over what my BMI should be. So, I cracked down and lost 45 pounds, and I looked like I needed a sandwich! I must stay about 25 pounds over my BMI to look like I won't shatter if I fall. For a taller person, you may need to weigh more over your BMI. The key thing is, try to maintain a weight that looks healthy for you!!!! Just because such and such chart says you need to lose 25 pounds, that doesn't mean you'll look healthy 25 pounds lighter!

I've noticed that people, especially taller men who hang right on what their quoted BMI should be often look like they are physically sickly. As a male who noticed such things, I know that this is going to put him behind the curve on women. What women would want to be with a man who looks overly fat or overly thin, knowing that neither is healthy???

Same with me. My chest is supperman but my arms are stickman. Do the limbs expand with time or do I really need to focus on my limbs more then the main lifts?

Focus on the arms, while maintaining the chest. In other words, do five or six specifically arm reps (like curls) that have enough weight for each rep to get harder and harder. If you can throw the weight around with ease, you need more weight on the bar.

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

It takes time. I'm 6'3" and I have been bulking for 5 months. I've gone from 180 to 205 lbs. and it still isn't really that noticeable. I definitely look more built, but I'm still fairly thin in the mirror. I am thinking I will have to get to about 230 before I look fairly big.
