Many even have a collection of stolen hidden face nudes from various women that get used as bait in hopes that you believe you are receiving nudes from the woman in the original bait profile. There are many "slut bots" on snapchat that will send old pictures of random tits and flirt with you in broken English and never actually send a "fresh" snap. 40 year old Indian men will pretend to be 19 year old American girls online to make a buck and/or trick you into clicking on virus links.

Some scammers are more skilled than others and can make convincing forgeries, or some poor girl got her passport or picture of passport stolen.

You got off lucky OP. You almost met the same tragic fate as my drunk penniless coworker that fell for a similar scheme. Kudos to @Pierce.Manhammer for delivering the concrete evidence needed to stop the low-life scammer in his tracks, confirm our suspicions and save the OP from what could have been a life-destroying mistake.

I do not regret making this thread and am surprized how I allowed this to go that far as I am normally skeptical dealing with anyone.

I had updated my facebook page with a new photo and a lovely photo shoot I did on a trail. This scammer made me feel alive enough to hype up my social media profile. Its a good thing, apart from my folks, and you all, know about this. Normally, being a sad case, I dont update my photos / videos unless its something epic. Had not had a penpal that clicked since 2015 (she was from Guyana and I met her online in 2008 and we met each other once in summer of 2015 in NYC, she ended up marrying someone else).

She got the wrong number. She tried to call a girl she met at a party. She is from Las Angeles.

Phew. This doesn't sound like a scam at all.

For a moment I was worried too, but, hey, any bitcoin investor can dial the wrong number and suddenly find a new client.

Never mind that Toronto and LA area codes are different. I can totally see how someone would dial 416 instead of 213. I'm sure it happens all the time.
