"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Take a moment every day to feel grateful for all of the good things you have in your life. If you have good health, a roof over your head, parents and family who love you, a job to pay your bills, an education or ambition. Good food to eat. A car to drive, clothing on your back. Computers, internet, iphones, gyms to go to. Imagine the teeming masses of suffering humanity who don't have the things you take for granted. Take a moment to appreciate what you have. If you believe in a higher power, take a moment to send thanks for you blessings. Enjoy your life and find you happiness in the things that are good in your life. We are living in the best time in history so far, let's not take it for granted.

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

It's true. Culture wise we are definitely not at our high point, but to anybody who complains how bad we have it today, I say try living in the Middle Ages. THAT was a bad time.

Amen.

It's all about what you choose to focus on. If you don't think you have anything to be grateful for, try losing something you currently take for granted and then getting it back. Suddenly your world will seem blissful even though you're exactly where you started.

A few years ago I moped around a lot about how much my life "sucked." Then I wrecked my car. Afterward I was just as mopey except that I had something new to be mopey about. When I finally got my car fixed, I was on cloud 9 because I had transportation again. Even though I was in the same exact position I was in before I wrecked my car. Except now I appreciated what I had.
