Syria is fighting against US supported mercenaries, Al Qaida basically, US supported Al Qaida terrorists, which kill civilians, genocide whole towns. It is as if Al Qaida come to your American town and tried to in-place islamic halifat, and your army fought with them. Their ideas are not what muslims are about, this just a perverted version that the CIA is using to recruit mercenaries. Well, your idea of the truth might be different, but it's ok.

War is never a beautiful thing, and it doesn't matter who is doing what on which side. Sadly, however, it has been a constant part of human history. Few people realize what the realities of war are, and there is a glamorized idea of what it means to fight in combat. America is going to be involved in any conflict in that part of the world because they are focused on gaining more control. The Americans have been in that part of the world fighting the war on terrorism for more than a decade now. In it, at the end, after the war is lost, after Berlin is taken, Hitler justifies the war to presumably black pope:
