"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Now that I'm back into the swing of things around here I figured I might as well post something of value from my experiences. So here goes....

I figured I'd write about something I do often... going to clubs/bars. I really like dancing so I tend to go where the music is loud and the dance floor is usually hoppin. Having a bar there is always a plus but not necessary. First there are a couple of things you need to be successful.

First: you must go out in a proper mood.

Meaning you have to be in the right frame of mind to be successful at a club/bar. If you bring all of your problems with you they will inhibit you from concetrating on the goal at hand >>> to have fun.
Try to keep your mind clear. The more you think about what happened at work that day or that late bill the less you will be able to communicate effectively. Don't think about that girl who wouldn't give you her number last week or the girl who didn't call you back or any of those things. Remember you're out to have fun.
(a quick side note here, sometimes you may not want to go out but get dragged into it by whomever. This isn't always a bad thing because the right club, song, or girl can turn things around instantly. The point of having the right attitude when you go out is only meant to make you more appealing than
you would if you were sulking in the corner or at the bar the whole night.)

Second: You must be willing to dance.

If you don't dance there is no time like the present to get out and learn. Have you seen Napoleon Dynamite yet? He got his groove on and everyone loved it.The rest of the movie is kinda lame but the point is you don't have to be good you just have to do it and people will notice you're having fun instead of how bad you dance. You should never be afraid of what people think when you are dancing.
Have you heard the Humpty Dance song by Digital Underground. Make it your theme song and you will never have a problem getting your groove on.

Third: You must be observant of your surroundings.

I know this sounds like common sense but many of us men are really just clueless to the world around us. I'll explain more about this a little later on.

And finally...

Bring a cell phone, pen/paper, or something to write on because you will be getting #'s. It's a pain in the ass if you have to go looking for something to write a girls # on plus it makes you look bad. So be prepared.

Ok now to put it all together...

It doesn't matter if you go out alone or with your friends there is always a way to have a good time at a club/bar. Granted you're prepared as listed above, you should be ready for anything, so lets go to the club...

When you get there it's a bad idea to rush up to the bar. You want to check the place out get a feel for the vibe.
(I prefer to do an intro loop around the place. I kind of wander around checking out the pockets of people, checkin out all the girls and who they are there with. Once I've made myself noticed I'll get a drink and watch the dancefloor for a moment.)

This is were being observant comes to play.

Find a place out in the open where you can see who's dancing and who's on the fringe wishing they were on the dancefloor. Now you're looking out for girls looking at YOU. You WANT to catch them in the act, if they are lookin then they must be interested right?
As you look around for potential dance partners/ ONS/ or whatever pay close attention to peoples eyes. The 3 second rule applies here big time. ( I trust you all know what Im talking about) As you look around you will notice people doing the same thing, looking around or chatting with friends and pretending not to be looking. If you are with a wingman or a group checkin people out this is a little easier cause you can do it while you're talking to them or they can help you spot out chicks lookin at you.
When you find that hottie you're lookin for DON'T look away, if she catches you looking just smile right back at her. If a girl is interested she will look right back at you then turn away real fast, then look right back at you again or look down and back. If she keeps lookin you better get your ass over there and ask her to dance or something.
If you can't get a good view of people or don't catch anyone looking at you make your way to the dance floor. Do the same thing on the dancefloor keep your eyes looking for people looking at you. People don't just stare at the floor while dancing. Look around see who's watchin you. When you see a girl and make eye contact make your way over to her, but don't rush make it smooth like the song is making you move that way.

When you approach I've always found it better to not rush in for the kill. Some guys like to rush right up to a girl and start grinding. Some chicks don't mind this, others do.
(I like to introduce myself or throw out a compliment here.) Somehow start a conversation. You don't have to keep it going
forever but you do want some kind of communication from her. Remember your dancing not standing at the bar so keep the focus on what you're doing and let the conversation happen.
(I dance around with the girl while keeping eye contact and playfully touching her while keeping the conversation going.)

Remember this>>>Chicks love to rub their butts on guys while they dance.

(I usually work my way around to the back or if her hands are reachable I'll try and turn her around with a spin)

Keep your rhythm going and let her grind into you. At somepoint here your probably going to have to try and match her rhythm to yours while you get closer and closer. Doing this kind of mimicks sex and boy do they love that. Another thing that I like to do is mix it up when I'm dancing with a chick. If we've been grinding on eachother for a while I'll back off and just dance around with them. Then I'll get closer. I do this off and on and each time I get closer the girl usually grinds harder and harder.
Usually you can tell if a girl wants you to keep dancing with her if her concetration is on you and not the people around you. That is another reason I back off every so often. If a girl doesn't want to
dance with you anymore she will start dancing with her friends or just leave the dance floor.

Once you've worked your way to this point you can do anything to close for the #. Especially if you've been dancing with the same girl for a while. You can suggest you take a break, get some air, a drink, a smoke, whatever. Just keep your initial conversation going and your in.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Personally, I have many problems with it.

Its nothing at all like my successful bar/club game. -I'm not doubting that it works for you, and many others.

Personally, I find your best approaching well away from the dancefloor. They layout of the club is obviously important.

But I like to approach and the bars, or sort of looking over the dancefloor from a balcony.

Its then easy to isolate "lets go dance".

Dancing/Grinding/Making Out/Number Closing. Awesome. Its easy to do.

Flaky chicks are much more likely as there has been no real conversation.

You need to build comfort.

Approaching at a distance

I want to get some ideas on this.

If a girl is giving you EC and you give it back an all that, You want to follow the 3 sec rule, but she is a good distance away do you either
* Take the long journey to go introduce yourself
* Leave it til later
*other (please specify)

I am curious on what the best approachers would do or what works best for you.

Most important point of all.

Most people who complain about difficulty picking up in bars/clubs have the same problem...they go out putting too much pressure on themselves to perform pick-ups...or they just aren't in a cut-loose-and-party kind of mood.

I'm guilty of it myself a lot.

You gotta remember...chicks go out on weekends to get away from the establishment and be the wild little animals they all are at heart.

"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

Thats true...I dont really go to the club, but Im gonna start going more often...Usually I hate going cause Im in a bad mood, but I notice when Im out of town and I go out I have a better time...So what I did was tricked myself into thinking that I was from out of town on a trip for a couple of days and I just wanted to see the nighlife...It did take alot of pressure off, and I should be going to the club this week so Im gonna try it again and see how it goes...

Sounds like a fool-proof plan, but as I am only 19, I don't have ANY experience in this type of a setting. For those of you who are desperate, college parties are the absolute easiest pickup situation ever, lol. I don't like the drunk-as-s bitc-hes, but there are usually several nice girls on the scene who aren't drunken slu-ts. Anyway, sorry to hijack the thread. I like your advice El.
