"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

A week or so ago, I asked you guys to evaluate the interest of a chick I had dated. As you guys advised, she was not interested and is now a thing of the past. One now off-puttingly apropos point from the thread was that if there was no kiss at the end of the date, well then, the date was not successful.

Flash forward to last night. I went out for margaritas with another woman and she and I wound up making out at the end. In the midst of the salvo of saliva, she said something or another about babies being the worst consequence of sex. She meant in the context of unwanted pregnancies but the way she said it seemed to indicate babies, planned or otherwise, was the worst part of sex. To which I quipped, "I'm sure AIDs is worse than a baby."

I prodded her for another kiss before I went and she refused me while seeming to sulk. She proceeded to say "while we're on the topic of diseases..." then divulged that she had herpes in her throat. She said she wasn't experiencing an outbreak so I was safe. She also said she knew the guy who gave it to her and was furious at him.

While I appreciated her candor, it was a nice way to ruin a perfectly good make out session. I am a bit skeeved out to future moments of intimacy. Would you guys drop her?

The thing is, frankly, I am not sure if I have HSV-1. They say 60-80% of people have oral herpes, many times contracting it as a child.

Advice greatly appreciated.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

I'm sure she means HSV2. That means she can deep throat. But also means you can catch HSV2.

Invariably, when she said she had herpes on her throat, I believed it to have been from deep throating some guy.

But, then I read up on it and supposedly HSV-2 only wants to exist below the waist. It's very rare for HSV-2 to be transmitted orally. I may be mistaken.

Rare but not impossible.

If this is something you can catch and she failed to inform you beforehand then drop that hooker instantly.

She knew what was doing. Her comment about babies being the worst consequence of sex was interesting, me thinks this was her way of downplaying her situation of having an STD/I. Women are always covert like that.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Well, she claimed she was not contagious at the moment. Who knows if she was. I asked her what she would have done if she was experiencing an outbreak and I went to kiss her. She said she would have said she had a sore throat. I don't think she's deceitful. I honestly feel bad for her in a way because she has a moral obligation to tell every guy she meets about this condition. She could not say anything at all and just get what she wants at the expense of her partner's health.

It is confirmed she has HSV-2 and got it from a blow job. I just asked this through text.

It doesn't necessarily mean she is a ho but was with the wrong guy.

I'm not too keen on this situation though.

Let's look at it from another point of view. Your in the market to buy a used car. On the phone the guy talks up the car telling you how great it is and it runs perfectly. When you get there to test drive the car it starts leaking oil and blowing fire out of the tail pipe and has red bumps all over it. Run run now run as fast as you can don't look back did I mention run now.

You really need to figure out the value of this woman and whether she's worth the risk. If she's under 23 and her partner count is less than 5, then she might be worth it.

Here's the low down on HSV-2. I have it and I've been fvcking my GF for over a year now. She hasn't caught it because I don't fvck her when I'm having an outbreak. As a side note, she found out she has HSV-1 when she initially got tested. She didn't even know she had it and has never had an outbreak.

It's good the woman was very honest about having it. If you proceed, you'll need to trust her to tell you when she's having an outbreak. My issue is I generally cannot trust women to tell me when they are and are not taking birth control. I've had women lie to me about their birth control so they can get pregnant. HSV can similarly be used to try and nail someone down, because you can't give it to someone who already has it.

I'll leave it up to your discretion. If she's young and low-mileage, I'd go for it. If she's been on the c0ck carousel, then you're better off moving on.

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

It baffles me why anyone would suffer thru an outbreak of hsv-1 or hsv-2. Acyclovir is CHEAP. Take it twice a day and you never have to go thru an outbreak ever again, and your risk of infecting anyone goes way way down.
My ex has hsv-2. I got him on meds, he never had an outbreak again and I never got it. I'm baffled as to why people choose to suffer when they're are solutions. Stigma, maybe, but the doctor patient relationship is private, and doctors have heard everything, so why not get treated....

Im sure the guy who's cawk she sucked for her to get throat herpes told her he wasn't contagious either and guess what , she got it.

Get your self to a doctor. Pray you didn't contract it and next this girl.

People lie. I wouldn't trust a "oh im not contagious right now. " comment.

I can't imagine anyone being worth the risk. Best of luck that you don't have anything as a result of making out.

It doesn't completely get rid of them for everyone. I'm on the meds and still get outbreaks, although they're less frequent and less severe. It's different for everyone.
