"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

This past night, I went out with some of my friends from back home and we had a great time (bowling, food, etc.). However, this past night also consisted of the most dramatic, coincidental, and, well, stunning moment in my entire life.

Yesterday, I came back home from college for spring break (I am a Freshmen). My friends and I planned to go out, and were considering "spicing it up" by inviting a HB9.5 we know that is a senior in high school (I know her the most) and some of her girl friends. I don't really "like" this HB9.5, but she seems cool and fun despite the highs (start of a dating relationship) and lows that we've had over the past couple years. In addition, I kidna wanted to "show off" the 15 pounts of muscle I've added on since I last saw her in June.

Yesterday, I called her (I am the only one with her #) about her and her friends going out with us (I mentioned how we'd probably be going bowling and then getting something to eat) and she said she would definitely think about it.

Early this afternoon, we talked again (I again brought up what we would do - bowling and perhaps a bite). She explained how she is just staying in and going to bed earlier because she has a major track meet tomorrow (this is true - I ran track and know of this meet, and know her relay reached the finals). Valid excuse - nothing I am going to try and do. I wish her good luck and that was that. Or so I thought...

...this past night, my friends and I went bowling, as we had planned. We got there at about 11pm, but I got there a few minutes before them (different cars). I walk in, reserve our spot, and begin to walk around the waiting area (one of my friends, who wasn't aware we tried to invite the girls, was with me). I see one girl from my old high school with her bf, we make eye contact, and we said hi. I look over to the girl sitting next to her (as I am scanning the area). It was HB9.5, with her "fvk buddy!" I was stunned. She had the "i'm screwed" look on her face, and quickly tried rattling off the excuse of " [fvk buddy's name] dragged me out. I don't have to be at the meet until 1pm tomorrow." I was still extremely stunned, and don't really remember what I did. But according to my friend there with me,

"You walked by her, made eye contact, and she said hi and started trying to talk to you. However, you just stared at her for a second as she talked, like your were shaken or stunned, and then you walked away, not turning back once."

I called my friends about this "coincidence" as they arrived at the bowling alley. When they walked in (I was in the bathroom), they said they saw her, ad immediately ran the other way. They couldn't believe it either.

After that, things weren't so traumatic. Sure, our lane was about 3 lanes from them, but we didn't talk to them and they didn't talk to us. We later went to a local diner for a bite and that was the night.

This event was the main topic of conversation with my friends and I for the night, since it seemed too weird:
-I told her twice, two days in a row, that my friends and I were going bowling this past night. She of course said how she is not even going out and is staying in hte night before her meet.
-There is only one major bowling alley in the area. If she is going to lie the way she did, WHY GO TO THE BOWLING ALLEY? She almost set herself up to be exposed. There are several places to go in the area, but she chose the bowling alley, a place she knew we could very well possibly be.
-A few of my friends know the "f buddy," who went to our high school. They told me that the two of them used to be dating, but broke up and now just act like "f buddies." They also told me it's not worth getting really mad about

I was pissed. I couldn't believe it. I was purely stunned - so stunned I couldn't even tell her off in front of her "f buddy" and her other friend and her bf. Shortly after this stunning and awkward encounter with HB9.5, I erased her cell #, and then took her off my AIM buddy list the second I got home.

Never again will I be talking to this chick. She is "nexted" forever, despite her very attractive looks. I guess that's the reason I am having a much better experience with girls in college - they don't play high school games.

Feel free to critique and post your thoughts on this. My biggest question is: Why would she go to the only real bowling alley around when, two days in a row, I told her my friends and I were going bowling? If she went anywhere else, I would have been fooled by her lie and probably still talk to her from time ti time. It seemed like a very, very odd coincidence.

PS: I was going to make a post about how, since I've known this HB9.5 for our years and we've always had some sort of feeling for each other, although nothing much came from it (or it seemed), I still had her in my mind a little bit. The good thing that comes out of this is that I will never have to think about her ever again - and hopefully never talk to her ever again either.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

If you have NEXTed her, why write so much about her, haven't you or your friends got anything else to do?
If you go bowling, then bowl, have a great time and forget the girl.

Yeah, it is pretty silly to get worked up over a wh0re going out with her FB. She sounds like a real idiot, too, for the reasons you've stated.

You wonder why a hor has no loyalty to you? That is why she is a hor!

Any girl that has a FB is to be labelled a hor until the end of time, just as my name implies.

If I find out a girl has or has had a FB relationship, I drop her immediately and never talk to the hor again. I have only met 1 so far that I have been able to confirm.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Here's the deal - the first warning sign was when you asked her out, and she said ' i'l think about it'. An INTERESTED girl doesnt say that.

unless she got back to me, I wouldnt be wasting my time calling her again to see if she's 'thought about it'.

As for turning up to the same bowling alley - she must have little respect for you. I rekon you played it well, she's not worth your time if she pulls sh*t like that, whether she be a friend or potentially more. Walking away and not giving a crap was the best thing. Well done for deleting her cell n0, and well done for deleting her off AIM.

If she tries contacting you again and asks where you've been, say ' i've been real busy lately' - she'l get the message and f*ck off

This girl has obviously got away with murder in the past by chumps letting her get away with her dis-respecful behaviour. Dont be another one of her chumps, your better than that right?

I just highlighted this quote, because I feel it is right.
And yes, I am better than she is, and will ever be.

Just some notes based on all the replies:

-I had no idea she had a f buddy. I've been gone in college and haven't seen her in 8-9 months. I mean we've talked, but not about that.

-No, I did not ask her out. My friends know her friends a bit, and each of us would talk to one of them (some of her friends were upstate for a hockey game). It just turns out I usually will lead my friends, and she is the "leader" of her and her friends. So the most emphasis was based on it.

-I didn't really "like" her, but I think it was more for social proof than anything. I could have really cared less if she didn't come. The lying is what got to me. I don't forget things like this.

I guess I was just really, really shocked last night, which is why I rambled on about it. We got along just fine, and then she decides to do this sh!t. Don't worry - I won't be talking to her again. If she even tries to contact me, I will either be "ignoring" her or telling her exactly how I felt about the situation. :trouble:

Why oh why do people lie to themselves and others?! Its like they are fighting an enternal battle within and they can't win. If you haven't guessed it, I am calling you out The Comeback Kid, not the girl.

Here is my take of the whole story:

You like this girl, you want to fvck her. She however has other options and I am talking about lots of options. Therefore it is hard for you to get her to notice you. After hitting the gym for a couple of months you decided to try to coax her into liking you because of your new look. However you know she will outright reject you for a date therefore you found a loop hole by trying to invite her out with your friends in a platonic setting, hoping that she will see you in a different light and something will happen between the two of you.

A girl with high interest will say yes. A girl with low interest will either say no or will have to think about it. Either way she was looking for something better to do that night and she was hoping that will come up.

She couldn't tell you that she has better plans with her boyfriend and whatever her boyfriend decides she will follow. Women with very high interest will lose sleep, backstab their friends, not study for exams the following morning if their boyfriend wants them to be out that night.

It doesn't matter if its a fvckbuddy or a boyfriend or some guy she is dating. He is fvcking her and calling all the shots and she complies. That is all you need to know. She is not dating you, she isn't a close friend of yours and frankly she doesn't owe you an explanation. This is what you get for trying to go under the radar and find a loophole.

DJDAMAGE,

I like the thuroughness of your post. Some thought I have on it:

- I think the word you're looking for is "infaturated", not "like." I wouldn't be looking for a relationship with her, but yes, I would want to fvck her. So you have a point there. Someone I know in college tends to show off quite a bit, is pretty egotistical, etc., and he show off how he wa able to get a pretty attractive gf. I think this got the ball rolling in terms of me wanting to "out-do" him and gain a lot of social proof.

-Yes, you are correct. The loophole I found was involving friends. In fact, I actually would not want it to be just me and her. I don't want to date her, I do not want a relationship. Having friends there I felt was better overall. To tell you the truth, it really wasn't a big deal she didn't go out with us. However, it was a big deal that I found out she blatantly lied.

- Yeah I assumed the whole "I'll think about it" thing as not being a great sign. My friends suggested we try to bring girls out with us, and we all knew HB9.5 and her friends, so I decided to give it a shot.

-OK, I didnt spend the whole night talking about her. That was a bit of an exaggeration. Yes, we did talk about her a bit, but not nearly the whole night. It was just very "coincidental."

You're "stunned" that a girl lied to you?

Wow, I'd be stunned if she told you the TRUTH - that she had a f-buddy that she was going to hang out with instead.

I think I have YET to meet many girls who didn't lie habitually...let's say 80%-90% do.

No, I'm not stunned she lied.

I'm stunned she would be dumb enough to lie, and then be at the place I would probably be at.

Trying to fvck this girl is going to be a "relationship" because you are planning on doing it more then once. Beside that point, any chick you are planning to game for whatever reason is best to be done 1 on 1 so she will know that she is on a date and things are going to get sexual. If you got friends hanging with you then its not really a date and you are less likely to score.

Ever hear the saying "don't bring sand to the beach"? if you are going with out your friends aka wingmen then it is the perfect oppertuinty to meet a new group of girls where you don't know where you will stand as opposed to girls you already know where you stand.

She probably wanted you to fight over her.

You were too stunned to 'tell her off'? For what? For rejecting you again? People lie, like you were doing when you disguised your sexual advances as a friendly invitation.

And what's with the technicolour font party?

Irony at its best. Let it be a lesson learned and move on. It's just business guy.
