stop the rules and just start using common sense!!!

It seems like there are so many guys on here who are wondering why they leave here with their little rules, but yet they are still unsuccessful. The rules are JUST A GUIDELINE. They aren't set in stone. They aren't for every situation. Hell, most of the rules are just to help the AFC mindset grasp some common sense.

1. She can't miss you unless you let her.

you don't need some 5 day rule to call her! you don't have to ignore her for a week. common sense dictates that every time you step forward, you gotta take a step back and see if she's following. it's a dance, not a race...

2. Don't overkill ANYTHING

that applies to the previous thing i said, but also applies to everything, like compliments, tokens of affection, whatever. if you give her everything right away, what else is there to want from you?

there are many other examples, just realize that these "rules" are not an end all to your afc ways. these rules are like placebos until you can differentiate between what is common sense and what is just ridiculous. and you should never just leave the site because you got the answers you need! your change in perspective is an ongoing process. stick around.

There are no rules except the laws that your government, local or national, provides.

I could get into a lengthy discussion here as to why rules are important to the newbies, and can gradually be dropped as the 'patient' develops his own personal style, but I will simply say.

The word rules should, in the context of the www.sosuave.com forum, be called 'Recommended Guidelines to a Speedy Recovery from AFC Traits' (RGSRAT for short ;))

Nowdays there are only 3 Don Juan "rules" that I follow - "C+C+C", Confidence + Control + Challenge. It is SO much easier without memorizing all the little tricky details of how a DJ should act.

Before:

I go on a date. I sit there, look her in the eyes, start a convo with almost exact lines taken from the Bible, do Kino, follow the "30/70" rule... and then something happens. I forget a rule. I always forget a rule. "It's not a big deal", I tell myself. But the truth is, I have lost control. I can still act DJ, but it feels like I'm drifting in the wind. To put it in better words; I have lost one "C". Control. I don't know did it happen to other people, but it did happen to me.

Nowdays:

I go on a date. I'm confident, I act like a gentleman, I don't give away too much of myself and - most especially - I am genuinely interrested in her. That way I havte the control, the challenge and the confidence. Nothing more is needed!

One of the basic rules of DJ'ing is: Being a DJ is 50 % attitude and 50 % experience. Well, that leaves 0 % for memorized techniques and exact rules, right?

The only exception is, like someone said, for the newbies. The newbies need the rules, because it helps them keep it together. To them "being in control" doesn't mean anything if you don't give exact situations regarding the issue. So the rules are in the Bible as they should, but it is quite funny how the Bible does not direct the newbies to always try to find their OWN way in solving their problems. They can become too wrapped up in the rules that they lose their personality when talking to people, that's what happened to me. Yah, you still get the ladies - but it doesn't feel the same. It's not genuine. If you have the attitude (which concludes the "C+C+C") and if you have a little experience and if you know what you want from life and are ready to get it, then you are a DJ at it's finest.

Isn't it like the, " Teach a man to fish...." theory? One can learn everything on " how to ", but unless one actually goes out and does it, they still can't do it. Learn rules, then adapt them to yourself as needed. What works for one, might not work for another.

Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.
