The title is perhaps slightly dramatic... slightly.

I am confident, I have friends, I can make new friends, and I can talk/relate/socialise with everyone from the old man on the bus bench, to the HB10 on the dance floor, to my 8 year old next door neighbour.
I am very physically apt, I know how to look good, and I can advise to others and myself about all things fitness related.
I can set goals, I'm smart, and I can succeed in both school and professional work.
I have a solid inner game, and am not modest in anyway :p lol

But I still don't have the good fight to, fight. I still lack something substantial to throw my considerable power behind. I've got a chest full of tools, but no house to build. - Yes, I'm young but surely there must be something. I want a cause. I need to save something/someone.

Any advice, words of wisdom, or insults? I'll take anything on this one, lol.

How about saving yourself? It sounds like you are looking externally to try and fill a void that is internal.

Life will give you many opportunities and challenges to fight the good fight. Be prepared.

If you're really looking for a cause, they're staring you in the face every day. I don't think that's your problem. It's deeper than that. You're now questioning life in general which is good. Now find the right answers that'll satisfy your being.

Cheers!

If saving yourself is not enough of a good cause you could try going into law enforcement or become a fire fighter or perhaps the best saving other people type of career...

You could become an EMT. :p

You're lacking fullfilment in life..... I know what you mean..

Dude..do you like airplanes?.... Seriously take flying lessons...become a private pilot... that will give you a lot of fullfilment.

Just try something new, and keep life intresting.. Sounds like now is the time to try that thing you have thinking about forever... or do some traveling..go to a place you always wanted to go...

Wherever I am.
It sounds like you just have not yet discovered your passion in life.

Some self-reflection is required here.

It's time to stop thinking about the material things you want out of life and begin to focus on the things that actually fulfill you.. a fusion of work and play which is the fertile playground for ideas worth getting amped about.

Think about the things you absolutely love to do, the people you admire most, and why. Think back on all the dreams you've had since childhood of what you wanted to be. The answer is already within you, it's just a matter of silencing the external noise so you can LISTEN TO YOURSELF.

I'm exactly the same!

Everyone tells me that spending time thinking is bad but I've decided that's bullshi't. I'm just taking time to clear my head and choose my moment, experiment a bit. I'm lucky enough to have supportive parents in this.

I feel anarchy will play a huge role in my life eventually, perhaps you are the same. Don't you feel that the world has altogether too much false authority and bullcrap? I have this vague idea of doing something totally absurd like take a hostage and demand payment in gummybears from the government, something like that -- anything to spar with the powers and prove that they take themselves too seriously.

Stevepavlina.com has quite a lot of stuff that's helped me and might help you.

Ultimately, I reckon the most important thing is to follow our own joy, not the fear of anyone's opinion.

Ey, do you have msn? Let's talk, we might be able to form a team! ^__^

Go for it! Taking one up the a$$ from Bubba in prison should liven up your life. Cheers!

^Hey it worked for Billy Jack.

What are you going to school for? How about law school? Be an ACLU lawyer, defend the little man. Get pot legalized. Save the whales...something, anything.

Sounds like you're at the same stage in life that a lot of intelligent young men go through in modern times. The world is at your fingertips, but you don't quite know what you want out of it. All I can say is keep searching--there's something out there for you.

A little more information about me then;

I am 18 years old, I work three jobs (one at a service station - that developed my 'fluff' talk abilities lol, one at coles stacking shelves - which i use as active recovery as it's quite a streneous job, and as an AFL boundary umpire because its easy work for lots of money - leaves me more time for other pursuits).
Also, I am doing year 13 (year 12 - repeating the last year of high school basically), despite scoring 96.55 - a very high score, lol. Instead of rushing off to the workplace or university I feel I still really need to find out who I am, and my current commitments afford me plenty of time to do this.

The main passion of my life is human development. Namely, the health and fitness field (if I had to limit myself to a job, it would be a strength and conditioning coach), and how we learn/how we can improve learning and teaching methods. This is really where most of my thoughts and time are spent. Whether it be researching, discussing, training myself and others at the gym, or discussing teaching methods or preaching revision plans/tutoring.

I am not very materialistic or money hungry (although I have lots of jobs, I don't work that often - i just like the variety).

Law was high up on the list for a long time - mainly because people told me I would be good at it. However, I'm yet to meet a happy lawyer, or a lawyer that isn't full of **** (not saying there not out there though). Also, I am a volunteer firefighter with the CFS, not the glorious job it's made out to be, but it is still rather cool, lol (good for chicks as well, lol ;) ).

And, I am working towards becoming

Tell me why you guys wake up every morning, and why you spring into action. What are you fighting for? Why do you do what you? I guess this is probably enough for me, lol. Not sure what I was thinking when I first wrote this. I do still however want a cause worth dying for.

First of all, thank you to everyone who replied to this.

You need to be saved.
Are you speaking from a strictly religious perspective? I assure you whatever I lack in 'religion' I make up for in spirituality.

Actually, I've just had an 'aha' moment. I shouldn't be looking for a reason to die. I should be looking for a reason to live. I should create and work towards something so special, that it is worthy of my love, time, and whatever else. Sometimes I miss the point on these kind of things, lol - I'm young and human though, lol.

Come on, give me some outside validation, to reassure me.
Once again though, looking for something to live for!

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Excellent! I thought about that after your initial post. A reason to live is much more important than a reason to die. Here's my reason why you should live:

You have no choice.

Unless you're really sick and considering suicide, you're probably going to be around a lot longer. Make the best of it by turning into the best man you can possibly be. Do some soul searching and come up with the answers that'll satisfy your living.

Cheers!

Roman, survival is the most absurd reason to live there is.

A man should be happy to die but live because he FU'CKING WELL FEELS LIKE IT.

Death's like an ace in the hole. If you're ready to die for your principles, then no-one can ever truly contain you.

Sam, I reckon now that the reason to live is just to make the world the way I think it should be. If I live poetically and true to myself, burn bright and hot, and die a legend then I'll say it was worth it.

My first tangible goal is monetary. It seems to be the first step to freedom, and the power to make a change. Meantime I should be working out ways to change the world.

The thread that I've started here actually reminds me an awful lot of an AFC/noobie's post asking 'how do I get the girl I have a huge oneitis for?'.
Both questions are looking for a magical answer. An answer that was always within the AFC they just didn't know how to use and embrace it.
Im looking for direction moreso than a direct answer, I guess.

@ fuzzx
I want to make a difference, and I come here for guidance. Take care of yourself and your ambitions, and the girls come all by themselves. I think this area of the forum is for the guys who no longer need to worry about daily interactions with the opposite sex.

What brings you to sosuave? What is it your striving for? Surely it is above poonani and materialistic ventures.
