"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

Well, I first want to thank this forum for helping me get a prom date. I finally got some balls and decided to just pop the question. I took this girl out to lunch yesterday and asked her if she'll go with me to prom on the way. I was delighted to hear her when she responded, "sure".

Anyways, the reason I'm posting here actually has nothing to do with the prom. Basically, all of my friends (except a few) are going to Italy over Spring Break for a humanities trip. I would've gone too, but I already went to Austria earlier in the year and it would've been too expensive. One of the few people staying behind is this girl that I really like and just started to like a lot very recently. I thought she was staying here for Spring Break and asked her if she wanted to hang out over break. She told me that there was a chance she might be going out of town, but that if she were to stay we could hang out. So I just found out today that she won't be going anywhere over spring break. And she told me to giver her a call when I wanted to hang out. So now I'm really excited! However, this is a completely different girl than the one I asked to prom (she's in Italy). But this shouldn't really matter should it? Just because I asked one girl to prom doesn't mean I can't go out with other girls.

I don't know this girl I like very well (my best friend does though, but he's in Italy) and was wondering what would be the best thing to do with her over break. I'll probably ask her what she wants to do, but if she says she doesn't care, what should I do with her? I was thinking about doing something outdoors since it is spring break. Like either canoeing, taking a bike ride, or throwing a frisbee around. Maybe I could also take her out to lunch in addition to the activities mentioned above. Are these good ideas, or should I stay away from doing outdoor activities with her?

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

HMM well lets start of the top!!! There is nothing wrong with dating 500 chiks at the same time, that means there is nothing wrong with going out with two! SO were should u take the one u have right now? HMm how about amusement park? its really great idea. U will have fun in there, get to know each other and hopefully u might even end up making out somewhere on the ride!! :D.. If not then take her to play some sports maybe? PLay teenis with her or something like that, when u get hungry take her to lunch. Or take a walk in the park, or even take a trip to the museum! All of that sounds good? If not then invite her to ur house. Wathc a movie together in ur house. prepare something tasty for her, and let her meet ur parents, or they other way around! I mean there are really a lot of possibilities that u can do!! I cant give em all to u! Good luck

I thought about playing tennis with her, but another girl I spoke to said taking her to place tennis is a really bad idea. I guess because I'm really good at it and she's only played a few times? Any thoughts?

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

So I just talked to her about an hour or two ago and we made plans to hangout this Monday. Anyways, I asked her what she wanted to do and said that she'd like to go paddle boating. I'm also planning on bringing a frisbee, but should I see if she wants to go grab some lunch before the paddle boating? I really don't know how long she plans on spending with me. Also, I was wondering what some good conversations would be to bring up while we're paddle boating and what to look for if she wants to take things further.
