"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Do you know how to shed 3 tenths of a 40 in 3 weeks lol? I think right now im a 5.2 im want to get down to atleast in the 4.9 before triplesessions start which is on august 21 does anyone have any ideas?

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

I played a little a couple years ago.

My personal best was around 4.65.

You have to practice sprinting. Just like lifting, or catching passes, etc., the more you do it the better.

The first 2/3's of your sprint should be power. Your head will be down and you will be pushing your body, not pulling. Does that make sense? Your head will be down, and you are digging your legs into the ground, pushing you forward, instead of having your legs pull you forward.

Anyway, power for the first 2/3's of it or around 20-25 yards. The second part is when your body is straight and you are using the power you built to keep balance and to accelerate more. You'll burn in your legs for the last portion, that's too be expected because of all the lactic acid.

Remember to run THROUGH the 40-yards, as that will help your time go down. You shouldn't think of decelerating til around yard 45--5 yards after your run is complete.

Find a partner: Practice running while they give resistance. Use a towel, wrap it around your torso, and have a friend grab the towel and try to provide resistance.

Also, do more than just 40-yard sprints. Do 100-yard sprints, do gassers (sideline-to-sideline--that's one gasser). Mix it up much like you would with lifting weights. Speaking of which, lift weights. The whole body really works in sprinting--it should be strong as you are giving your body the ability to really power up in the first 20 yards of your sprint.

You don't see skinny sprinters.

But practice. 3-4 times a week run varying distances of sprints. It'll get easier and you'll get better.

lol im 220 and im like 5ft 8inches before school wass over i did maybe 285 on the bench and my legs are TO STRONG i could do 315 on the squat for like 17. The acceleartion i did 40 10 yard sprince 40 25 yard sprints and 20 40 yards everyday . But during the summer I just basically focused on improving my girl game and just ran to lose weight but i only lost like 3 pound lol. You think its possible to drop 2tenths of a second from my fourty in 2 weeks ?

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Stretch well. Sprinting is a good way to pull a hamstring, which will keep you from running at top speed for 6 months to a year.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Ok, this is completely random, but did you go to Lakeridge? Because I think I know who your coach was...either that or there is more than one Gasser from Oregon

I jump around 4.8 so my opinion might be worth listening to.

I've never had to work for speed, (even if I should) but my friends have made some serious improvements.

One of my heavier friends went from 5.9 to 4.95, pretty impressive improvement (if I do say so myself.)

We simply do our sprints to the best of our ability.

Your coach(es) might do it differently, but generally splitting up the team on opposite ends of the field.

Having one team sprint to the other, the next takes off, and a cycle of running and catching goes on.

Each group gets about (give or take) a twelve second break in between sprints.

We do this for anywhere from a half an hour to an hour and a half.

You could do this by yourself, but I wouldn't suggest doing so. Competition is a powerful motivator.

But 285 on bench? You monster lol.

Nobody has suggested sled-pulling yet.

Over two weeks there's no training method that will make you faster. The best thing you can do is get plenty of rest and eat healthy. The day before the run, load up on carbs.
