"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Ok, my dorms are having this speed dating thing in about 3 hours, and I was thinking about going, for kicks if nothing else. I just wanted to see everyone's thoughts about speed dating, and any general tips or things to keep in mind. I would assume that a speed dating environment would differ from a normal pickup, at least slightly, so I figure if I'm gonna go, I should go prepared.

"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

I have been to speed dating once and it was a completely last minute choice.

Looking back in hindsight, I would say to think of thought provoking questions. It is boring when guys go around and around and you're always asking the same boring questions (i.e. what program are you in? what year? etc). It also makes you stand out more. You really don't have much time to change an initial impression, so go in confidently and maintain a confident state.

I went in with the attitude that I'm not too serious about it, but at the same time I am not narrow-minded either. It worked out well for me.

To be honest I was thinking along the same lines. :)

When you're pitted against a bunch of other guys and go thru the same situation, the best way to be noticed is to be different. Forget the fluff lines and get to the juicy stuff. Stand out.

I had the idea of just looking at her kinda sly, and asking real calm and cool, "So, are you a good kisser?"

Come on guys, I need more, it starts in less than an hour!
