Speaking Tour

My agent has booked me at an 8-city college speaking tour this month to promote my book, which is coming out in a couple of months.

Let's talk social proof and being the alpha in the room: I will be lecturing in front of rooms full of impressionable young women, many of whom will be sowing their oats, all of whom are interested in the very thing that their professors will have told them I'm one of the world's leading experts at.

And I'll be staying in nice hotel rooms. Always a plus.

This is just a trial run. If this goes well, we'll hit it really hard later this year, and my book will find its way into some curricula. That would result in a steady gig speaking at colleges and universities, year in and year out.

Globalization. Same as everyone else. A few new ideas, or so I'm told.

I don't have a Ph.D. I have two Bachelors degrees, an MBA in international finance, and post grad work in international development and regional studies, plus years of work in the military on provincial reconstruction teams.

You don't need a Ph.D to write a book but you'll have a hell of a time breaking into academia without at least a Masters. A big part is who you know but you've got to have the bona fides.
