Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

Who has done this?

I have and some common themes:

I have huge standards. All my past gfs have said they felt so pressured to be perfect due to my standards.

That I am very moody and hard to deal with sometimes. Mr Perfect to mr BITE YOUR HEAD OFF.

That I am a very positive person

That they all respect me as a person.

The physical was the best part

That I am a great friend but not a good bf

They loved me and talked about marriage

I am obviously with none of them now. Some I have broken up with some I have not. (really 3 LTR mainly of 3 yrs, 2 yrs and 8 months)

Can you take anything from this process? What are your thoughts about my recurring themes and how can I benefit from knowing them? How can I improve myself from them?

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

I personally wouldnt be turning to past shags for a self evaluation. For starters theyre chicks which means by default even if they could lay it out logically for a way for you to self improve (which they cant) they would probably get it ass backwards and tell you to lose the traits that got them wet in the first place.

Its obvious b!tches dont even know what they want for themselves being creatures of emotion so to risk such an important thing as becoming a better man is pure lunacy.

And honestly why give a sh!t what your ex's would say anyway?

Yea, and maybe you should make a movie about it!

Oh, wait, someone beat you to it. It's called High Fidelity.

Don't ask a women for relationship advice.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

I analyse myself because I want to get the most out of this life!

A very good point though!

excellent points on not trusting women's judgements. Absolutely correct.

You get the most out of your life but living and moving forward, not self-analysis.

Self-analysis inevitably leads to self-consciousness

This should be a proverb.

HA!

That was good!

yendor28,

I think you're ready to grow up and stop fooling yourself.

I've done the same thing and I realized it was a movie I've seen before. Tired of the same old ending I'm ready go about it differently; however, I'm not so desperate that I'll take anything.

Concentrate on the areas you need to work on if it's really that important you. I mean at 28 you still can learn alot about yourself. I'm 31 and I'm still maturing.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
