I was actually waiting for someone to play what i like to call lucifer's advocate.
Firstly, I would like to say that of course we are bound by nature. It is literally impossible to distinguish us from natural processes. We are biological machines comprised of an amalgamation of atoms, which together make chemical compounds, thus set in a specific order make us. Beings that are bound by the need for sustenance, oxygen, water, so on and so forth. Yes, you are completely right, we must submit our selves to nature (nature as in the universe not biological processes). BUT, the reason why we need to submit ourselves to nature is because WE ARE PART of it.
Humans LOVE to form a distinction between the dichotomy of human beings and the universe itself. This is a ridiculous thing to do. We are part of the universe, created by it through natural selection, and other processes which make us what we are today.
But you know what human beings have the uncanny ability to do? Question nature and its existence, and whether its processes are more efficient then the ones we can come up with. A better way to put it is nature created us in order to make processes more efficient through technology. We are a biological machine created by nature in order to perpetuate technology to make natural processes quicker and more efficient. Essentially, we have, time and time again overcome biological barriers for our benefit.
Here are a couple of examples.
1) Communication: Biology tells us that we should only feasibly be able to communicate in front of each other, because our biology obviously didnt evolve with telepathy.
What we did to overcome that: We invented cells phones that send frequencies to space at unfathomable speeds in order to talk to a person thousands of kilometres away. We have devised instant messaging which is basically just a series of 0's and 1's in code that gets scrambled up and sent to other computers or phones and reforms it self in seconds. Biology states we should not be able to do this. But we have overcome biological barriers.
2) Transportation: Biology tells us that we should only be able to transport ourselves on our two feet bipedally and at most increase our accelaration by running.
how we overcame that: at first we used biology to overcome biology by riding other animals. But human nature overcomes biological barriers time and time again. We invented cars, bicycles, motorcycles, trains, monorails, jets, helecopters, spacecrafts. The list goes on and on. Eventually we will have technology which transports us to different planetary systems. A feat that our biology would never imagine could happen.
3) Reproduction: biology tells us that we should only be able to reproduce if we are fertile, and we cannot have sex unless the prospect of reproduction is at play.
how we overcame that: well i wont get to into this one because the field of medicine that concerns it self with reproduction is huge. I will just say that we can produce babies in labs, and we can over come reproduction vastly, were if a person is infertile they may still have the chance at have kids. We also have manipulated chemistry for our benefit by coming up with pharmecutical compounds that allow us to have sex without the prospect of having a child. These are namely called contraceptives.
By the way i am vastly underestimating the amount of times we have overcome biological barriers. these are a few sh*tty examples.
Anyways i know im going way off topic but i just wanted to show you that humans have the uncanny ability to diverge from biological barriers. We are NOT different from "nature" (everything in the universe) BUT we can diverge from what biology tells us to do.
This brings me to my final point.
If we can diverge from what biological processes tells us to do, then we most certainly can diverge from the prospect of living our lives solely for the purposes of having sex. It is a hard feat to accomplish mind you, for i believe that many man cannot move past this worldly vice. But it IS possible, we are not BOUND by biological barriers. In fact each day we are moving further and further away from biological barriers and moving more towards technological utopia. Some will even postulate that we will move beyond our biological bodies into technological machines but that is a debate for another day my friend.
But you make a good point. And i have taken it into consideration, for i live by the saying "question everything" even myself, so what i say here today is not absolute truth so please counter argue me.
