you are gonna laugh because it looks like a grandma recipe :
heat water + lemon juice from one fresh lemon + canelle (i don't know if it the right word in english, it's a spice) and add honey
this does not fix the problem however, but after trying it, it is really a relief. the soar throat comes back after a few hours

With the weather warming up (in the northern hemisphere, anyway), a lot of pollen is being pumped into the air. With that pollen comes the ol' seasonal allergies, a symptom of which is nasal congestion.

Your body tries to rid itself of your excess mucous pretty much any way it can, and one of those ways happens to be by draining it down your throat, which causes irritation.

And I imagine your karaoke only exacerbates the "condition," but it's nothing fatal. At worst, it's a continual discomfort. Keep up the fluid intake and your mucous should thin out enough to lessen the discomfort at least a little bit, but there's nothing you can really do: even taking antihistamines will just make the stuff drain faster into your throat. (Trust me—Von Neuen's been there, done that.)

Cannelle is French for "cinnamon," if anyone was curious.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

As a professional musician, here's some tips I've picked up from a variety of singers:

When you are speaking a lot (like when teaching), try to vary the pitch of your voice a bit. Speaking constantly in the usual, low, monotone range of your voice is very hard on the vocal chords.

Keep drinking water, including before you go to sleep. When you are becoming dehydrated, one of the first places your body pulls water from is your throat.

Drink warm tea mixed with honey.

I realize this one may not be fun while you're at a karaoke bar: but try not to drink anything cold after your voice is warmed up. It's like pouring ice water on a hot engine. If you can live without beer, go for room-temperature water.

Swimming is the best exercise for singing.

When you are singing, try not to sing from your throat, especially on the high notes. Most people breathe high in their chest and sing from their throat. If you aren't familiar with breathing low in your body or singing with head resonance, you're doing extra work and straining your vocal chords. A voice teacher could help with this.

Go to a music store or online and find "Entertainer's Secret." It's a throat spray that some singers I've known swear by.

I hope some of this helps. Good luck! :)
